Hello i could not start Unreal 2? Is there a fix?

Here is the error Code:

LockRect failed: D3DERR_DEVICELOST

History: UD3DRenderDevice::ReadPixels <- UD3DRenderDevice::Present <- UGameEngine::UpdateProgress <- UGameEngine::Draw <- UWindowsViewport::Repaint <- UWindowsClient::Tick <- ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

Build: Mar 14 2003 13:26:15

---------------------------

System
Intel i7 2600k
16gb 1600 Ram
Geforce 970
2-3 Monitor with Intel hd 3000
Maybe its Win 10 10130 de 64bit (fresh install)

Thx
Maybe it is incompatible with Win10. Try to put some older D3DX files next to the exe. When the exe's folder has a D3Dx library file it will load that file instead the system default. This helped me with some older games.

Try d3dx9_26.dll to d3dx9_40.dll for first. These files are free, you can download them anywhere.
Thanks for the Help but it does not work. got the same error. In windows mode i could start the game with alt +enter (fulscreen) i got the same error.

Here is the Unrel.log.

It still looks like some driver problem. I think with the DirectX, but thats all. Sorry I not really know much more about the problem.

Try to send the log to the GOG.com support. Maybe they can help. :)

I believe it is the Windows 10 Preview build as I'm having the same issue running Win10. Question though, how can I install both singleplayer and eXpanded multiplayer w/o GOG Galaxy? Thanks
Silly question, but do you have these installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Same problem for me, I just remembered GOG and installed GOG Galaxy, tried to play Unreal 2, and got the same crash.

I have an AMD A10 7850K, 8GB, R9 285

Running Windows 10

Edit:

nm. The fix for mouse sensitivity fixed it.

He's referring to this mouse fix:

Just found a solution on Steam: steamcommunity.com/app/13230/discussions/0/535152276585023562/#c535152276586458689
Just open up your UT2004\System\UT2004.ini file, and replace ReduceMouseLag=True with ReduceMouseLag=False and save.
