Vess07: Underrail website just announced release for patch 1.0.0.8. Any idea for an ETA when it'll be available here?
usually a day or 2, sometimes faster, sometimes slower
I got a notification that there was an update, and then when I looked, there is no update.
Have to redownload the whole game again for the new 1.0.0.7 patch? Quite annoying.

Also get the 1.0.0.8 patch ASAP please. Fixes some big annoyances with Deep Caverns.

No, you don't.

I'm sure they will. Remember, it's the weekend, but even with that, it could come any moment.

You have to. Says incompatible and download new game installer. Bought the game at launch and hence my version is only 1.0.0.2 after the first patch.

SirKoskelot: So does anyone know if/when there's going to be a normal patch or must I really download the whole thing again?

To_an: I am afraid you have to (re)download the whole thing, since Gog has directly jump from 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.0.6.
UnderRail is now up to 1.0.0.8.

Since GOG gets a full compiled image of each version of the game, I don't understand why they require anyone to redownload the entire thing again.

They can just make a binary patch from the two versions, package that in an installer, and ship it. Receiving the image, diffing it against v1.0.0.0, and making the universal patch file are all automated tasks. Getting a human to test it works properly shouldn't take much time. But I'd really like to see their patcher capable of bringing (whatever version you have installed) up to date to the version of the patch. That process has been a staple of game deployment for 20 years - it can't be a mystery to GOG.
As long as it's not a forced patched, like Steam.
Does it always take so much time for new patch to appear on GOG? 3 days passed since 1.0.0.8 came out.
This is a single annoying thing about GOG...

Still, I preferred it over Steam to buy the game. I guess if you want to buy games on day 1 you better off with Steam and buy only older games on GOG. That's a shame.
I don't think so, though I mostly buy older games at GOG and they are already patched. Here in the US it's a holiday weekend for most. I'm not sure which country GOG or the patch team is based, but they probably get the weekend off.

Poland and yes the patch team has the weekend off.

not so much "always", but sometimes. Patience is a virtue, realize.

Also realize that the patch was released right before the weekend and that that is a factor.

My general recommendation is to never play a newly released RPG until at least 4 months have gone by. They are big and complex and there's always things that need "fixing", and depending, I'd even say 6months-1year can be ideal so all the kinks and even minor things are worked out (I'm a completionist, so I find it detrimental to my enjoyment of playing a game if even the smallest of side-quests doesn't function properly.)
Did Poland have a national holiday on Monday, also? Hopefully something will release soon, afaik they only need to 'package' the patch. The only kind of testing they probably need to do is make sure it finds the install directory. It's not really GOG's job to test the actual fixes to the game, from the patch.
Furthermore, and according to Styg (the developer, on official forums) the 1.0.0.9 update is on his way. Will Gog wait for this one and thus not providing to us the last update ? Like they did for 1.0.0.3 & 1.0.0.4 & 1.0.0.5. If so, it will be a shame to wait at their discretion.
Yeah, completely unreasonable for GOG to not just put the damn patches in installation wrapper and release them. Once they have an installer coded, it's not like they have to create a new one for each patch, it's the same Damn Installer. It would be ridiculous for them to not just release patches because they might have to do it once a week. It couldn't possibly take much time, to wrap a patch into an installer.

Do they have any idea, many of us have stopped playing because we are waiting for the 1.08 patch which fixes bug in the Main questline preventing Faction approval to a major faction? We can't proceed with the main quest as a Neutral player, without 1.08, Faceless will not become Ally correctly.

Wait what for real? So what am I not allowed to do?

Oh GOG, dragging their feet lazy style as always.
