UniversalWolf: I liked the old Junkyard mutants. They were a nice nasty surprise, but after getting your butt kicked the first time you had to plan carefully how to deal with them.
Hmmm, how bad is the nerf? I usually don't like seeing things nerfed, because I figure that there is a way to not have it be so difficult, it just needs figured out, and the devs are tired of people complaining.

drealmer7: how bad is the nerf?
I don't know, actually. I'm just about to get to that part in my new game (I restarted for the new version).

But I liked the old ones anyway. They were shockingly dangerous the first time I encountered them, which made me stop and think about how I was going to manage the situation.

drealmer7: I would say the majority of the time the updates come on the same day or 1-3 days after the patch is released, depending how much Quality Assurance time is needed by GOG to make sure the patch is a good one. I've actually had it happen more often than not that I'm glad GOG wasn't "insta-patch" like steam, because of frequently patches coming out that just require hotfixes or cause unforseen issues because the developer was quick to patch without proper testing.

Seriously, if you aren't patient enough to wait even an entire week for a patch for the game you want to play, you've got deeper issues. Or maybe you just don't have enough games to keep you occupied? Either way. Learn to be patient. Read a book. Smoke a bowl and relax. Realize that GOG for sooooo many other reasons is still the better choice.

People really need to get away from the instant-gratification immediacy-expectation lazy-convenience ways of thinking and living and being. Waiting for patches is a great way to exercise those disciplinary muscles. Please, for the sake of humanity, and yourselves. Try it!
Expecting a game to be updated in a timely fashion like Steam and the expectation of being treated as well as a steam customer is not instant gratification, and to suggest that it is, is just idiotic. I've seen game updates take several weeks to never (in one's game case) on gog. It's not like you can download an update for the games purchased here.

As far as bad patches go, turn off auto updates if you have issues with it.
I've just bought and installed the game today, GOG version is 1.0.0.6 !

donaroriak: I have downloaded full 1.0.0.6 twice (with slooow holiday bandwidth) and the installer keeps failing and telling me to check integrity. Integrity check succeeds every time, and installation still fails. Now I am stuck with a borked install preventing me from playing the previous version as well.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
No errors at home, and installed over my old 1.0.0.2 install without any glitches (my old savegame just load fine). But without any further information, and since it seems more an installation failure :

- Where have you tried to install the game ? In one protected windows folder maybe, like C:\Program Files ?
* If so, don't. Use another folder, like c:\Games for example. Or install it on another partition or hard drive (and don't use an USB one).

- Have you tried to install it with administration rights ? You know, right-click on the *.exe and choose "Execute with Administration Rights (or the equivalent in Italian :)"
* If not, give it a tried, who knows.

- How have you downloaded the new installer ? With the Gog Manager, Google Chrome, Firefox ?
* Try using the Gog Manager - it's fast and effective.

- Did you have any errors printed on screen during the install (apart from the one concerning the integrity check).
- Have you tried to use the SKIP button during the integrity check to see if it's make a difference ?

I hope you will manage to solve your problem. This new version is amazing, and i had corrected all bugs i was fancing. And if nothing works at all, try contacting the support crew.

Solved it by uninstalling, THEN manually deleting all remaining files in the installation folder, then executing the installer as administrator.
Thanks!
Anyone heard when the 1.0.0.7 patch will be available on GOG?

Please write us a Support ticket if uninstalling, reinstalling (please keep your saves, though!), and patching the game does not fix those errors :)

Okay, thanks! I almost sent a ticket in right away but figured I'd wait and see if anything else happened with it after a day (hotfix or somesuch), but I'll do a fresh install and update now and see what happens and send the ticket if not. I'ma go ahead and delete my saves because, well, I'm cool replaying the beginning a half dozen times anyway.

---update---

as I figured it probably would, fresh installed and the update applied no problem!

Are the updated versions compatible with old-version saves?

Per the game's splash screen, I'm running 'Version: 1.0.0.2'.

I know I will replay/start-over at some point (and will postpone patching until then if need be); but for now I'm content to keep playing my initial game and character (L13 atm). At the same time, some of the things in the patch notes I would like to apply (such as the save-game memory leaks - which for myself have caused the 'zone errors' until I restart the game.., etc.)

BTW - excellent game! Love it so far :)

I haven't heard anything from Styg regarding the saves not working when updating the game. That said, it would be a wise idea to back up your saves before updating the game :)
It seems update isn't cumulative. Can't patch my game from 1002 to 1007, will need to redownload and reinstall game. Quite inconvinient.

Патчи не кумулятивные, с 1002 до 1007 не обновишься, переустанавливать надо с нуля.

Underrail website just announced release for patch 1.0.0.8. Any idea for an ETA when it'll be available here?
