Hello,

whenever I change the mouse speed setting and exit the game, next time I start the game and go into the options the slider will be reset to 1.0, the number above will still show my setting but the speed will be noticeably reduced.

Thoughts, ideas? I's just a small hassle but a hassle nonetheless.

I can tell you that this behaviour is not normal. I tried it myself and everything works fine for me. As a workaround you could try to set the mouse sensitivity by using the winsetup.exe and click on "advanced" to access the mosue options instead of setting it inside the game. Maybe this works better for you.

in the advanced tab the setting stays on 1.8, the game itself seems to just "ignore" it.

Attached a screenshot (it does say 1.8, slider is all the way to left as in 1.0 and the mouse is moving at 1.0)

like I said, a hassle... not necessarily a problem

I completely understood your problem I just hoped that maybe the settings outside of the game would work. Sadly this does not seem to be the case for you.

Edit: I just had another idea. The mouse settings are stored in acsetup.cfg in the following path
C:\Users\USER\Saved Games\Unavowed

You will find the following lines here:

[mouse]
auto_lock=0
speed=2.600000

Try to change those manually. After this you could also try to set this file to write protect.

Edit: I now was able to reproduce your problem. It seems as if the game has difficulties accepting values < 2. Will see if I find a workaround.

aye, now it gets interesting, values <2 are not even written into the .cfg file

additionally, it seems the mouse speed is not written into the .cfg file at all?

Yes, they are. You have to look into the config file in your save folder not the one from the game folder.

For me values <2 don't move the slider but the mouse still is faster than 1.0.

that worked... maybe it's just a graphical glitch, who knows... will play with 2.0 then :D

hats (at least four) off to a fellow TEXphile ;D

I just registered at Wadjet Eye forums and will tell Dave about this reproducable bug. :)
Hm, for me moving the slider to 1.3 worked (it stayed there), and the value is a stored correctly in the .ini file as well.
I have the same problem actually, but for volume levels :(
