I can't find anywhere this information so i'm asking here.

Is this game like Eye of the Beholder where you have to eat to keep your health above a certain meter or not.
Because i didn't like that and don't want to play anything like that.

When in this situation, can you recover MP without needing to eat food? If so, is this enough to sustain yourself for long periods of time?

(Ultima 3 was like this, and the answer to both questions was "yes" since MP regenerates in that game, food damage is slow, and there's nothing else limiting spell use. Then again, Ultima 3 had no way to rest (except on the NES adaptation which added Tents).)

And, yeah, i don't plan to idle while playing the game so it will be fine by me.

In The Eye of the Beholder games clerics have a create food spell that instantly fills up all your characters' food bars, so food shouldn't be an issue (and going without a cleric in classic D&D games is always a big no-no).

I guess i can play those too, very good.

Dungeon Hack also has it, and it's one of the reasons that Clerics are the best class in that particular game (where you only have one character).

Hey, I posted this on another thread but this one is much more recent. Can anyone tell me why I can't sleep without dying. Trying to have patience for an old game, but I'm about to quit. I mistakenly went to level 3 too early, and killed a couple things, and got down to 3 HP, and now no matter where I go to sleep I die. My food seems alright(35) Any ideas? I've been all over level 2 trying to find anywhere that I won't die if I sleep.

Is your health bar green? You might have been poisoned by something, in which case sleeping will cause your health to drain.

The game will also note if you are poisoned when you click on your health.

We're talking about Ultima Underworld 1, correct?

Click the compass to check your hunger level. If you're Starving, then eat some food first.

Click your health bottle to check your current hp and see if you're poisoned. If you're poisoned, then curing the poison first will solve it. If you're at 3hp then don't use leeches because they deal damage; either use a potion of Cure Poison or cast the Cure Poison spell. Alternatively, drink a healing potion (or use a healing spell) to bring your hp up and you should be able to survive sleeping the poison off, depending on how much hp you have and the severity of the poison.

Alternatively, alternatively, run up to level 1 and use the healing fountain there. You can keep using that fountain to max your current hp, which should allow you to survive any level of poison while resting.

Thanks for the answers guys. I am barely poisoned but my latest save was at 1 hp and I don't have time to address it before dying. Maybe I'll get the urge to give it another go sometime, but I think I'm good for now.

I'm guessing you either didn't find or didn't use the Silver Seed on level 1?

I feel through something by mistake to go to floor 2 and then I found floor 3 before finding the way back to 1. I enjoyed the quick levels up and got greedy, figuring I could always spam save and find my way back to floor 1 eventually. I'll remember that if/when I pick it up again.
