Hi everyone,

So...I run the Ultima Codex, which is the destination for several of the links in this thread. Previously, I ran Ultima Aiera, which still exists, but which is no longer being updated, and indeed is no longer useful as a repository of files and updates for the Ultima games.

Back in December of 2014, I was forced to cease using the download manager that had previously served me well for a number of years, both because of a security vulnerability in the version of it that I was using, and because the new version of it totally broke the way downloads had previously been catalogued.

I have since switched technology, and I've begun restoring downloads to good working order across the Codex's various subdomains. The <i>Ultima 1</i> and <i>Ultima 2</i> subdomains have been fully restored, and downloads for the <i>Ultima 6 Project</i> and the <i>Forgotten World</i> patches for Ultima 9 are also in good working order again.

It's slow progress, but I'm working through everything as I can...I will have it all back online at some point. (And if there's something in particular that you need, shoot me a request and I'll get on it).

Question: Would it be of benefit if I periodically updated this thread with notes about which patches/utilities have their downloads restored?

Ok I lost my black sword leaving the dreamworld. Does anyone know how to get it back? I got the machine to fix it but i have no sword to fix. I read somewhere that i will need the sword later. I don't want to start over can any one help?

Sorry to be so late to reply. I have long had the Ultima Codex bookmarked and want to thank for it. Also, I did want to respond and say, sure it would be nice if you could drop a post from time to time about changes if you have time. That's a wonderful resource for these classics and I'm thankful you still support it as I imagine are many others too.

I hope you got some help with this by now but just for future reference I'd recommend creating a new topic when you've got a question like this so it is more likely to be noticed and hopefully answered. And if no answer comes along, I have found Google searches will turn up stuff I wouldn't expect sometimes so that's good to try too but perhaps you already did that anyway.

Hi All,

Spent a while on here trying to figure out how to get an Ultima 4 IV to 5 character transfer on here. Some great info here and thanks to all that contributed but it's a bit scattered and it looks like the FIXPARTY.EXE link is broken. I have put together the following command you can run in Terminal which should fix the issue (It did for me anyway).

Just launch Terminal paste the below command into the prompt hit enter and enter your password and that should do it. Let me know if it helps.

sudo mkdir /Applications/Ultima\ 5.app/Contents/Resources/game/Ultima\ 5.app/Contents/Resources/Ultima\ 5.boxer/A\ ULTIMA4.harddisk; mkdir ~/Library/Application\ Support/Boxer/Gamebox\ States/com.gog.ultima-5/Current.boxerstate/A\ ULTIMA4.harddisk; cp ~/Library/Application\ Support/Boxer/Gamebox\ States/com.gog.ultima-iv-quest-of-the-avatar/Current.boxerstate/C.harddisk/PARTY.SAV ~/Library/Application\ Support/Boxer/Gamebox\ States/com.gog.ultima-5/Current.boxerstate/A\ ULTIMA4.harddisk/PARTY.SAV

Tooms: Excellent work. I'm only up to Ultima 2, but this info was very useful for getting the upgrade working with the GOG version on Windows 7 64-bit.
How did you do that? I'm experiencing compatibility problems with the Ultima 2, 3 and 4 updates.

For sure reference card was extremely useful! Thanks a lot =D

Still I'm trying to play Ultima I and I really don't know how to speak with other characters... I can beat, cast or whatever, yet I can't talk with Lord British for example.
It's a silly question but please how I do it?

I mean- I know it's not really an Ultima game and that it's quite simple but still...

Edit: Found it inside the Ultima Patcher, I believe.
