The GOG install gave me 1.19F. I patched to 1.19H

Are there any other patches I should consider to avoid bugs that make the game unwinnable?

No, 1.19h is the last one in this regard. (bugs) you could consider to additionally apply the DIalogue and/or economy patch, both aim at bringing U9 a bit more "into lore" but that is about it to the best of my knowledge.
