gidgemuffin: it is indeed! (and a pretty awesome one at that!) unfortunately, you won't be able to grab it until Trinsic/Shame. i know where you will be able to grab a claymore on your way out of yew. i also know where you can find a 2-handed sword. the battleaxe will serve you very nicely in the meantime.
OH, and have you found the gauntlets of fury yet?
6502_Workshop: No, were are the gauntlets and the claymore? I'm about to clear the Shrine of Justice and head out of Yew.
I have a treasure map which looks to have an X marking the spot on the west coast of the continent that I want to check out before heading back to Britian. It would be funny if that is where some of the weapons are that you mentioned :-)
if it were only that easy!!
The claymore is in a cave to the west of the shrine of justice. You should be able to see a bridge if you climb up a little and look around to the northwest. Go into the cave and you will find a couple of goblins. When you kill them one of them will drop a key. This key opens a locked chest that you will find in the northern portion of the cave.
After you grab it you can just continue on down the southern area which will lead to an exit on the other side of the mountain. There is an abandoned mine over there that is important later so you may as well get it out of the way now. AND there is a chest in a shack there with a couple more bottles of serpentwyne!!
The gauntlets are back in bucs den. Keegan the cartographer wants to sell you a couple of special maps. They both lead to some treasure. The first one is pretty minor but you cannot buy the second map until you check out the first. The second map tells where the gauntlets are. The gauntlets of fury add damage to your attacks much like the gem of death.
