After being thrown into Deceit by Blackthorn, all my gear was taken away. I just exited Deceit and there is no sign of it.

Did I miss it somewhere on the way out? If not, do I get it back at some point? I saw a note from Raven on the dungeon exit - my guess is that she has it.

Thanks.

Yes, Raven has it.

unfortunately, you won't actually find her until after you cleanse the shrine of honesty. :-(

Cool. In the meantime, is there any point in picking up gold since I don't have my backpack with the nifty gold counter on it? When I pick up gold it seems to vanish into thin air, I hear the "ching" noise but see no sign of it on my toolbelt or bag.

Thanks!
you can actually pick up the gold! if you look at your stats, there is a gold tally and an arrow counter. i didn't realize this myself until recently!! pretty cool! i used to just leave it where it fell until i found Raven. i'm so glad i don't have to do that anymore!!

and hey--how are you doing in moonglow? it sounds like you might have escaped the bug i was talking about earlier.

Great to know, thanks!

I'm doing well in Moonglow except one issue. I have the book of truth, but don't have the sigil because I need the shield from Mariah's house. I couldn't find her house so I looked up a hint and read this:

--------------------
Now you need the sigil. Batista says she can give you the sigil but she wants her shield back first. Her shield is in Mariah’s house and if you didn't kill Mariah in Deceit she'll be there and happy to give you the shield and teach you the Restoration ritual.
------------------------

There was a crazy mage at the end of Deceit that attacked me. I had a feeling it might be Mariah but I didn't see any way forward without killing her, so I did. I found an empty house in Moonglow and I'm guessing it's probably hers so I'll go back and check.

But, did I screw myself up here? Is there another way to get this Restoration spell?

Thanks for your help.
If you killed all 3 mages at the end of Deceit then you killed Hairam/Mariah. You can still get the shield from her house even if she isn't there. Her house is the big one at the north side of town. You need to look in the kitchen and find the teleporter.

As far as the restore ritual is concerned I think you can still perform the ritual even if she didn't "tell" you about it. You jus need the incantation. If you want it, I will tell you. I don't want give away too much because I don't want to take away from your first play through.

Let me know. :-)

For next time you can kill the 2 mages that are carrying shields and swords. You can leave the 3rd one alive and then she will appear in her house to give you the ritual.

Thanks for the tips. I got the shield, cleansed the shrine and it does let me perform the ritual as you suspected. What is the incantation? I'll just pretend I did it the correct way and Mariah gave it to me :-)

It's "Vas Mani Corp" but you didn't hear it from me!!

Oh hey--ypu should go talk to Duncan again. He can teach you the 3rd 2-handed sword move.

Thanks. I had Raven take me to Buc Den so I can grab some stuff I stashed before heading to Britain.

Do you recall if there is a Pentagram in Buc Den or failing that, where the pentagram is in New Magnicia? I figure I'll bind some scrolls to reduce inventory so I can fit more of the gems I stashed in Buc Den.

Also, I recall you mentioning that you stash the runes and sigils in LB's castle. Are they actually needed for anything later in the game? If not I'm thinking I could just dump them anywhere which would free up 4 inventory slots to carry even more stuff back from Buc Den.
You do need them to finish the game at the end but you don't need to carry them around all the time. I suppose you could leave them in bucs den temporarily. Just don't forget where you put them!

No, there is not a pentagram in bucs den. If you have the space in your inventory, just bring them back to Britain with you. If you need space, maybe you could leave some potions behind until later. Maybe see if Herzog can buy anything from you.
