Once I'm out of ambrosia do I need the boots of levitation or the amulet of singularity for anything, or is it safe to drop them?

Thanks.

you can definitely drop them!

unfortunately, the boots of levitation don't work outside ambrosia. it would be pretty sweet otherwise, eh!?

LOL, yes indeed, I had a feeling they were one-time use only.

Glad I can drop that stuff though. Inventory full again.

On the topic of inventory space, is there a point where I'll be able to return to Britain freely or at least fairly regularly? I don't need to know when specifically or the details, but if opportunities to return to Britain aren't going to come up often that would be good to know.

I setup my room at LB's castle as my store room, and stowed all my reagents and scrolls I couldn't bind yet there before I went to Buc Den

Thanks for your help!
Well as far as binding spells, there are binding pentagram all over the place so you should at least be able to make some use of them to clear a little space. you can use the one in New Magincia before you go back to Buc's Den. it's right outside the entrance/exit to the tunnel between the two. don't worry about the debris that is all over--it will work. there is also one in hythloth that you should be able to get to relatively early on.

Yes, you will be able to go back to Britain eventually but it won't be for a little while yet. Are you still in ambrosia or no? You can sell some stuff to Grond (but not very much, unfortunately). When you finally finish Hythloth and make your way back to Buccaneers Den, I would like to suggest a couple of things--stop at the outfitter and sell whatever he will buy from you that you don't need. Go to the boxing ring and train as much as your dexterity allows. And last but definitely not least, do these things BEFORE you go back to Samhayne's house. You will understand why later.

I did find several pentagrams in New Mag / Ambrosia / Hytloth but I left all my scrolls and herbs back in Britain and Sam Haynes (I commandeered one of his rooms for storage). I thought Pentagrams were only going to be in principle towns for some reason. I was able to get the Light Heal scroll from the sailor in Ambrosia and he did have some herbs but not the ones needed for that scroll.

Lots of things I like about U9, but tight inventory space and not allowing the player a consistently accessible home base for storage is I think my #1 negative right now. It really messes with the explore-loot-regroup game loop that I'm physiologically tuned to.

LOL - no, not in Ambrosia, I just cleansed the Shrine and went back to Same Haynes and it looks like I get thrown in the can by Blackthorn. But I had plenty of saves, so after seeing your message I went back to the outfitter in Buc Den before proceeding with the story. Thanks, I didn't think of that.
i just edited my reply a little bit now.

sorry about Samhayne.

how many bags do you have? you will get another one right at the start of Deceit.

and bravo for finishing hythloth!! i hope you kept the swamp boots!

Thanks, yes, I definitely kept the swamp boots. I have four bags. I'm deep into Deceit now trying to outrun a timer shooting sun faces. Oh, yes, now I do remember getting a bag at the start. Inventory overflow not much of an issue in here since the game took all my stuff LOL

Here is the another thing I'm noticing. In the early part of the game, I'd say up through arriving in New Mag, it felt like there was a good blend of combat, exploration, and puzzles. Reeaaaly good blend actually. But with New Mag, Hythloth and Deceit, it's like, what happened to the combat. Just spiders, rats and other trash mobs. The game has gone into some kind of all puzzle hyperdrive mode like the last part of Serpent's Isle (except much better!).

Does the balance come back eventually?

UGH!! i hated that timer in Deceit!! it took me many many tries to finally get it! just keep trying.

as far as combat goes, yes it does come back. i guess the writers figured that since your stuff got taken away before you got tossed into the clink, they may as well go easy on you in that aspect. it's still a bit early in the game so the battles will get progressively more difficult as you go on.

when you finally get out of Deceit, you will be heading straight into Moonglow (and a *potential* bug--a pretty aggravating one at that. let me know if you have any problems) and you will have plenty of opportunities to do battle. i hope you kept the cutlass from the beginning of Deceit!

Thanks, glad to hear it. I totally missed the cutlass. I did pick up a war hammer though.

A Warhammer is even better!
