An offline backup isn't possible. The map is dynamically created using Google's mapping engine and this requires Internet connectivity. There's also an access key that is specific to a domain and this key does not recognize file:///. This "file:///" is what most people would see if they tried to view the map offline through their browser.

If anyone would like to mirror the map let me know. I would require an ftp account to log in and about 700MB of drive space. I'll take care of the Google key.

There's really no need to mirror the site at the moment though. The domain is solid, the google map is part of my portfolio of work so I'm obviously not going to take it down :)

Being new to U 7, very neat. Though, it's bigtime spoiler material by nature. I'll bookmark it and maybe use it, AFTER I explore areas. Just entering Britain, now. Might be nice not to map it myself:)

Also, it seems that treasure chest, S of Trinsic is missing. I never found it, and didn't try too hard, as it seemed awfully cheesy.:)

Well, I meant it's missing from your map:)

At fist I thought about not even looking for it, as I only knew about it from a walkthru....don't feel that's really playing the game, ya know. But, I was in the area, so I looked, where I thought the right tree was, but found nothing. Figured I'll be ok without it, and moved on.

I can assure you the "hidden" treasure chest and corresponding key are correctly marked.

I see no treasure chest....wait a sec.....as I was just moving around the map, it reloaded, and the chest and a point of interest suddenly showed up. They were not there before.

POI markers only appear at certain zoom distances. This keeps the map free of marker clutter. :)

Eventually, but as to when that happens I don't know. Before I move to Serpent's Isle I'd like to get this map out of beta first.

I love it!!! thank you.

I've recently purchased U7 but couldn't get around to play it yet... im more in a casual game mood.

I alawys end up forgetting how MASSIVE U7 is, for todays standars and for '93's.

Its incredible they could pull this out with no loading screens.
