Is there a way to cancel an active spell, like light or ethereal site? I just cast ethereal site for the 1st time and it's already used up half my mana.

believe it or not, i never figured out how to do this! you may be stuck until your mana is depleted. do you have an orange potion or some serpentwyne? you can just let your mana drain out and then replenish. don't waste the potion until your mana is gone though because your spell will just keep going.

by the way, you can cast other spells while ethereal sight or light is still active. as long as you have enough mana to cast the spell you're good to go!

I do have orange potions and 5 or so bottles of serpentwyne....I just hate to use them in such a routine situation.

UPDATE: solution found. If a spell is active, casting the spell a second time cancels it.

i know what you mean about serpentwyne. waste not, want not!! orange potions are pretty easily acquired though. the only potions really worth hanging on to once you have the heal and cure spells in your book are the orange and black. i never really found a use for white ones and the blue ones i only used once or twice. you can sell your extras in magic shops if you need cashola so it's not a total loss.

and speaking of ethereal sight!--i just discovered something that i never knew before!

i cast ethereal sight to look around paws for nightshade and since i didn't know how to cancel the spell i just left it alone. i headed to Valoria and was shooting at a couple of creeper plants to the left of the path up the volcano and one of them had some nightshade underneath it!!! i don't know if this was a fluke or what but i am going to investigate this some more!! i would not have been able to see the nightshade without the spell still active.

you can kill creeper plants with melee attacks but they are definitely easier to deal with from further away with a bow and either the fire arrow or cloud of death.

so far, it has only worked with the 1 creeper. i'm going to keep looking though!

were you able to find some in and around Paws? you won't be able to see it without casting ethereal sight. there is quite a bit over there if you just walk around. do you still need some?

Yes, I'm fresh out of nightshade and mandrake. I didn't try ethereal sight around paws so I'll do then when I'm in Britain next.

you will be able to buy mandrake from Elena in Minoc. you're going to have to wait on the nightshade. :-(

Excellent. And, I'm swimming in nightshade. I went to Paws like you suggested and ethereal sight revealed a bunch.
