Hello - I just wanted to ask real quick about what might be happening.

Symptoms:
While (from a fresh vanilla start) the Guide/or Narrator's sound is normal, and I may interact successfully for example with the light switch/radio, my Avatar's limbs move in slow-motion. As does ANY interaction with a book. I had (before I lost my saves) a couple of volumes on the hotbar in slots F11, adn F12. The large blue book w/ the ahnk on it, for example, would open fine only afterward it'd fail to respond to click to turn pages and all at once it would close very, very, v e r y slowly.
Entirely unble to get to where you'd save and/or quit the game so I have to use Task Manager just to get out. Oh and character only slid across the floor. What the heck, man?! lol

I've monkeyed around wtih the config utiities a bit, but put everything back to it's default ultimately.

Initually the Big D3d logo showed, then it stopped doing that. Intro film played alright - a bit stretched for my taste.

The slow-mo thing is wack. I've Never, ever seen this before. Bumm'en heavy bro...

Can anyone help me understand what to do? What is happening plz?

best regards and
God bless
thanks
I don't have a direct answer for you, but perhaps you might find one in the following older thread:

Or, if not, in the following thread on another forum:

I hope that you manage to find a solution!

Thank you so very much, Thaumaturge, for wanting to help. Something like this especially, I would always use the off-line installer (it's so small), only I'm not to sure what to expect when I go to run the Extended Setup application. Secondly it seems that running, or trying to run, in compability mode with Win98/Me, only I don't know how choose Win98... + ServicePak2 at the same time as suggested.

Finally - what's not being said. What changed? Who did what that fouled this up, because personlly I don't make a whole lot of changes system wide, as I expect that doing something like that might aid 1 application that I'm enjoying, but cause imbalance with several others. Something changed. =/

It's my pleasure for my part! And I'm glad that you found a solution! ^_^

As to what happened, I don't know. It could be an update to the game, or an update to your drivers, or, well, potentially a few things I imagine.

Perhaps this is no place for thank you notes, but I'd listed these questions at the bottom of my 'thank you' thread out there - and decided that I'd return to this thread and pitch them at you. Small stuff:

"..1. using my native res 1920x1080 the journal is to Big. Everyting, and I mean everything is spectaular accept the book is so big that I can't drag anything to the slots or click the navigation ribbon at the top of the journal, as it's cut off. Is there a way to adjust this while keeping native?
2. Sound *effects are dropped out (which is no big deal, I just noticed it) Music/voice are fine.
3. Lastly how do I know I'm chosing the right a, b, c, or d 1920x1080 setting (for example) with respect to the appropriate refresh--rate, because it doesn't show? Does it even matter.

It's a Great day to be backward compatable..."

Thaumaturge, I realize that a lot of being able to help in these situations has to do with having experienced something personally, before hand. That's all I can hope for, and I appreciate your time (certainly anyone's time) on this man, thanks.

Greetings again!

I did see your questions in the other thread, if I recall correctly--but I'm afraid that I simply don't have answers for you.

Have you tried searching the forum? Perhaps someone else has had similar issues in the past.
