So for those of us young enough to remember if you finished a Ultima you could send in proof of your completion to Origin and they will send you a nice little completion certificate for doing so. It was this nice little paper with a hand drawn piece of art for each installment with a blurb of what you did in the game with your name and signed by Lord British.

So it seems Richard is still doing this for most Ultima's and promises to do the same for Shroud of the Avatar.

Now if you tweet him you will get a congrats and all that but if you want a actual psychical one like we used to get back in the day you can send him a self addressed stamped envelope to Richard/Lord British @

I remember the late 80's and getting my U4 completion certificate. Took a few years of playing, but man what a ride! Good to know ol' LB still tries to connect with players/fans like that.
Oh wow, how fun! Maybe I should replay it all the way through just for that. Wonder if he'd mail it to S. Korea?
Dude lives in a custom-built castle full of secret passages. He can afford the shipping.

Not to mention he payed his way onto the international space station and has essentially a museum in his home(they showed it off on some show or another). I am sure shipping to South Korea wouldn't be a issue.

I'm personally planning on nabbing ones for Ultima 4(which I finally beat two years ago and made a few screencaps), Ultima V which I am working on now, since I had to restart due to switching computers and took a while to find where I had my backup end game save for Ultima 4 uploaded too since I tend to find it's a bit easier starting with a Level 5 Avatar with all stats starting at 25, then it was rolling a new one since I often run into the occasional pack of Headless or Wisps that would wreck a rolled up Avatar and Ultima 6 once I finish that one again.

I plan on having them framed and put on the wall of my office. Still really cool that Richard is still willing to do this, he may seem a bit eccentric but he seems a genuinely cool guy.
great. nice to know UW1 is included. but i doubt i can find me olde savegame for that.
Man. if I could ever find the disks we had for ultima six, I'd lell my sister to main it in. She when for a speed run back in the days before I knew what a speed run was.

It's reall neat that he does this.
Wonder if he will still send out a certificate if you complete it with some of the mods. You know, Avatar pack, SG fixes, etc. I've been playing U7:BG with the Keyring mod. I'd hate to have to start my run over, since I've already logged about 60+ hours....

I don't think he would really know. I doubt he will check your save data. The man does have a company to run, a game to work on and has a young child to help raise
Cool. I still have my save from the last time I finished Ultima Underworld (it was only last year). Let's make some screenshots... :-)
I just picked up the free Ultima IV for nostalgia and then I actually started getting into it.....hmmmm.

I just picked up my save from my last playthrough. My party was located right outside of the Abyss. So I battled my way down again last evening and now I have a nice screenshot that says that I completed the game. :-)
By the way: I sent my screenshots with a self-addressed and stamped envelope to

in May and haven't gotten any response so far.
Yeah, now kiddos like me can now finally experience getting congratulations from developers for completing their games. :D
