-Every screen is off center toward the lower right corner, which makes escaping and using menus impossible. Can't be tweaked from options since the OK button is probably on the part of the screen I can't get to.
-I hit new game and it starts to load, then it just stops. I get a screen with a background and nothing else happens. I have to exit by hitting control-alt-delete.
Anyone else have these issues? And, if so, what did you do to correct them? Any advice?

Ralackk: Could you please post your system specs and OS?

Windows XP 2002 w/DirectX 9.0c
Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHZ
512MB RAM
125 GB Hard drive space
RADEON X600 256MB HyperMemory (I am pretty sure that's the video card I saw in Device Manager)
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
DVD-ROM drive
I think that's all the pertinent information. Hopefully it helps!
If you go into your ati control panel are there any scaler options you can change?

Got it. Thanks! I tweaked the resolutions for my monitor and the game until I got the game centered. I can see the loading bar now. However, when it hits 100% loading it just stops on that screen and goes no further. We're half-way there!
It not loading could possibly be a sound problem, if you got to your start menu, run and then type dxdiag and load that. Then try going to the sound setting tab and trying different hardware sound acceleration levels.
You may also want to check your codecs if its meant to play a video after loading.

I did the dxdiag thing and tried various different configurations with the sound, but no go. May be a silly question, but how do I check my video codecs?
Easiest way is to install the k-lite codec pack.

It has most the codecs you will ever need to watch movies and play game videos.
i am also having the same problem mine goes off center to the lower right and when i open the menu i cant change any preferences. i tried to do the change screen size and couldn't figure it out so any help would be great

I'm having the same problem. The game works great, only every time I go into a screen I get trapped because I can't see the bottom of the screen. By the way, where is the ati control panel I need to use to scale the game?
I'm having the same problem, but messing around with the resolution hasn't helped at all. The highest I can go with my comp is 1366 x 768, which still has the bottom cut off, and when I go lower I'm pretty much just zooming in.
Every time i try to play the game it loads really slowly then as the game is about to start i keep getting Access Violation 0x00000000
My copy of Afterlight crashes when starting, its the annoying atioglxx.dll error that has been hounding me with any opengl games for the past 6 odd months.

I have an ATI HD3650 agp with the latest catalyst drivers for it (I have rolled back the drivers and tried different ones upto 9.12).

I'm experiencing this exact same problem but with an NVidia card (instead of an ATI one). I don't suppose anyone's got any suggestions :(. Everything's displacing off the bottom left hand corner of the screen (with a large strip down the right hand side that's shwoign desktop because it's outside the game window). If I try to change any of the graphics settings to get it into windowed mdoe so I can drag the game onto the screen I can't get at the button to close the options menu because it's off the bottom of the screen. This is becoming infuriating :(.

I'm not having the loading problem 'though :).

This issue isn't solved lol....why is it saying that this issue is solved? This issue isn't a issue of computer performance it's an issue with the default settings of UFO Afterlight....i mean are you kidding me GOG? this is a simple issue that has blown up into a major issue...what computer runs at a screen resolution of 800x600 anymore? gimmie a break....You failed GOG at rewriting this good game....the only solution to this problem is to have a ini file attached to the game that allows someone to manually change the resolution...the problem with the game is it's acting like a spoiled child and failing to change it's native resolution...you need to fix it!!!!! MAKE THE GAME CHANGE ITS NATIVE RESOLUTION FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
