This game is better than vanilla Oblivion. Vanilla Oblivion SUCKED with promises of things that should have been added but weren't. The story sucked, the oblivion gates double sucked (not another stupid gate!), the look of the characters sucked... Also it tried to be way too serious for such a silly story. Really.

Yes, Two Worlds suffers from awful dialogue/voice acting, but somehow it strikes me as...amusing rather than annoying. It's sort of a bad-ass story/character with the developers covertly winking and giggling in the corner and letting us know how silly it all is.

The classless system is gold. I love being able to make potions out of very nearly everything. Yeah, I don't get to customize my main character much, but at least he's not an ugly dog (Oblivion) and he has a sense of humor. And he's not a farm boy (Gothic 4 I'm looking at you and your boring-as-hell fetch quests).

It's very obvious to me that this game is almost a comedy rather than serious RPG, which makes me think the devs have a great sense of humor.
You're right! ;D
Second the comments above +Rep for telling the truth despite possible flaming! :)
Like I said before: Two Worlds Rocks!!

indeed
I love the potion making in this game... though I am a bit leery of using the ones that seem to have poisonous side effects (like -20 strength for 20 seconds on a +8 dex potion).

I do find that this game is much more fun for me than Oblivion - it is a combination of everything :)
Wait till you see two worlds 2
i posted news etc about it on this forum
Yeah, this game pretty much owns. I know I loved overpowering my character to a ridiculous level. Alchemy is love.

As well, the sense of progress is excellent. I, for one, enjoyed being able to die from the smallest encounters early on. It made my eventual god-like abilities all the more satisfying.

Can't wait for TW2!
+1 Rep to you, OP.

I started playing this game for the first time 5 days ago and I've already logged 30 hours into it. It took a few hours to get into it but now that I have, I can't get enough of it! Everyone seems to be bashing the voice acting but as you play the game, you really do have to wonder if the devs just decided to make a complete comical attribute out of all the dialogue. From hysterical conversations to the silly one liners your character spouts out from time to time, it just makes me laugh but never deters me from gameplay.

It's a shame that people judge the game after just an hour or two of play time. Once you invest a good 10+ hours into, that's when it really starts to shine.
Uhhh... no. I'm playing at the hardest difficulty level and the game is trivial thanks to one simple fact - I can outrun anything in the game. Want that chest the bandits are guarding? Tick them off, run away, circle around, and loot the chest while they are still chasing you. Not that there's much point. Money is trivial to get and, at least so far, mostly pointless anyway because you'll get loot just as good for free from killing bandits or just looting empty homes. Some skills seem to be pointless, too.

This game has major issues for sure - but at $10 much can be forgiven. It has tons of quests, too, with some of them being quite good.

It's sounding like TW2 will be fixing a lot of issues. It's a pity the publisher pushed the game off into next year here in the USA but I guess that will let the Europeans weed out the bugs for us.

Edit: First review for TW2 just in for XBox 360, it got 91%.

I personally enjoy playing this game, but the main reason I would recommend this game. Is to those people that have younger children. I for one play the Witcher and hope to get the second one someday. AS is I have 4 children and I find the Witcher not suitable for them. This games is fun ,got a good story and I feel good about letting them play it.
When I say children, my kids are 14, 12, and 2 are 9. I enjoy playing it and so do they. If you are a parent and your kids want to play the Witcher and can't this is a good alternative
As a fan of Oblivion IV, I thought I'd also give TW's a go and am also feeling the love. Agreed with the OP that Oblivion was let down by the gates to hell which all looked the same and were frankly a complete bore.

Would recommend to anyone who likes a light, fun RPG.
Well you guy's convinced me, buying it now. I liked Oblivion with the exception of the gates which almost ruined the whole thing for me, they were so repetitive and dull.

If you haven't tried it yet, the Nehrim total conversion for Oblivion is great,.
Totally agreed with OP.
The game is a great entertainment.
