I also have this problem. It would be nice if GOG released a real fix for this.

Thank you very much for the file! It works perfectly and I haven't noticed it buggering anything else up. Has anybody else noticed a problem with using this older file? GOG needs to include this!

Been playing about 12 hours into the game with the fix and no problems so far.
