Both versions have the same frequency cut-off (missing higher frequencies)

Has the actual game been updated at all or is it just the bonus pack? I don't need to download ~4 gigs on my
archaic internet connection if the actual program is identical.

It was just the bonus pack. Which is a separate download anyway.
