Greetings,

So, after eventually figuring out that you had to send a ticket to GOG in order to get a specific key which you need to use, before you can play the game multiplayer, my friend and I were finally able to start playing.

That is, until we wanted to start up a mission together. We select the mission, the game name, and specify a password; the creator enters the game, and then the other tries joining it. Connecting.... Connecting.... Connection failed.

The same thing happens no matter which one of us creates the game. Firewall has been set to allow Two Worlds to bypass it. Any ideas or suggestions? We're asocial types who don't want to play with strangers - we only want to play with each other, move through the missions at our own pace.

Did you do anything with the ports on your router? There's a chance you need to open some ports. That's my best guess.

Check this thread for info about firewall and port forwarding settings for Two Worlds:

The thing is, I don't have a router. Still, I found some interesting hints in that link, so thanks for that. I'll be trying out some suggestions, see how it goes. I'll return once I have something to report. :)
Writing to say thanks. Part 1 of that post you linked to did the trick; we both had to perform the necessary tweaks, but then we could finally play together. :)

Very clumsy system, overall, but at least we're in the game now, having fun.

Unfortunately a lot of the security measures that Microsoft introduced into Vista and Windows 7 can cause a lot of problems with games, especially older games that weren't designed with these security features in mind. Anyway, I'm glad you got it working!
