does anyone know if they are planning on porting both of the turok games to linux (since they ported 1 to mac, I have my hopes they'd go to linux some time later)

edit: I forgot to put a question mark in the topic name and I don't see a way to edit it in, my bad.

I would welcome a native Linux version of Turok 2 with open arms. I keep Windows 7 dual-booted alongside Linux Mint 17.3, but boot into Linux Mint far more often. I only keep Windows 7 around for stuff like Turok 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004.

My hopes are high for a Linux port of Turok 2. Mainly because it uses the same engine as Strife: Veteran Edition, which is Linux compatible. Fingers crossed, folks.

On the hard drives in both my laptop and desktop:

Linux Mint 17.3 = 380GB hard drive space
Windows 7 Home Premium = 120GB hard drive space

There are reasons for that.
It works well under Wine (but I had to lower my mouse polling rate from 1000 Hz to 125 Hz to get responsive controls...).

Any idea when we will get the Mac OS X and Linux versions?
Hi,

when we get the Linux Version of Turok 2?

On Steam the Linux Version was released as Beta on 12 Juli and the release Version on 12 September.

Now we have the 22 October and I am still waiting.

Your anti DRM Campaign is nice, but your Linux (open Source) support is very poor. Windows however is itself a DRM plattform with spyware included. So this has a very bitter taste.

Sorry, but in the future I will avoid to buy my games on GOG because on Steam the chance to play a game on Linux is much more higher, especially since proton.
Can we get an official response as to why the Linux and Mac versions are taking so long please?
The game is also missing the achievements the Steam version has.

I hate to say this -- (but I think that means it should be said...)

I ended up just buying this game again on Steam. :-/

I'm ride or die for GOG. But it seems so backwards for GOG to go all-in with DRM Free, then lock you into Windows?

I just think there needs to be better communication from GOG/CDPR about the states of Linux related things.

And, maybe it's the publisher or something? But we'd still like to know what's going on. There are a ton of other games like this that have Linux Builds on Steam/Humble but don't have Linux builds on GOG. :(

Anyway, yeah, it doesn't look like we're going to get an answer.

Hopefully someone at GOG/CDPR and/or NightDive reads this and chimes in here.

I wouldn't count on that. You'd have an easier time asking Night Dive through their contact email or asking one of the employees through Twitter (if you happen to use it).

It could be that Night Dive have sent a Linux build off to GOG and they've just not verified and pushed it through. It wouldn't be the first time GOG was to blame for the sluggish update pace. Then again, Night Dive might be asleep at the wheel as well.
I created a Ticket because Turok 2 and the non existent Linux Version.
I asked if i could give it back, because don't want pay two times for the game (gog and steam)
The answer was no, but I thought the answer. I wrote, that I am very unhappy about the situation with there Linux support.
The answer from the support:
"Thank you for your feedback I will forward it our marketing team. Unfortunately in this situation there is nothing more can do. I apologize for the inconvenience."

That was on 30. Oct. 2018.
No answer since them, nothing. Sorry, that's absolute bad.

And here are some other games, on Steam a Linux Version is existing, but here....only the Windows Version. Why? We don't get an answer.

I agree with matrix8967.
GOG wrote "we are so good" and we don't use DRM, but there communications to Linux is absolute poor ant they are locked to Windows, which itself is a DRM and Spyware OS.

I don't buy anymore games on gog. If I bought Turok 2 on steam, I now could play it on Linux, but here....
We do not even get an answer.

The craziest is with "The Witcher 3". On Steam I can play it out of the box thanks to Valves proton.

Maybe it is because the Mac and Linux versions are Beta stage releases and Gog is waiting for a confirmed stable release. But considering how long we have been waiting they should allow a beta version on here.

Come on guy we have been waiting months!
