I installed the game but nothing happened when I launched it. I checked the game folder and saw files for"

EULA.txt
goggame-1410768011.ico (game icon)
unins000.dat
unins000.exe (uninstaller)
unins000.msg
webcache.zip

Theres no installer or desktop icon either. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but its not helping.

It seems this installer is broken on win7 32 bit. I noticed that the VC++ 2015 redistributable would launch and exit and the install would say finished. The files you listed would be all thats left.

It worked on win7 64bit but the VC2015 redistrib. would fail if you have the VC 2017 installed so I had to install on a VM and copy the dlls over.

here is a list of whats required that you can pull from the system32 folder and drop in the turok folder:
api-ms-win-core-file-l1-2-0.dll
api-ms-win-core-file-l2-1-0.dll
api-ms-win-core-localization-l1-2-0.dll
api-ms-win-core-processthreads-l1-1-1.dll
api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll
api-ms-win-core-timezone-l1-1-0.dll
api-ms-win-crt-conio-l1-1-0.dll

api-ms-win-crt-filesystem-l1-1-0.dll
api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll

The installer shouldn't work in 32bit, as there is no 32bit version. Can you verify which version you downloaded and how you installed it, as this will need to be reported to GOG.
Same issue here. I used Windows 8.1 32bit.

We don't offer a 32bit version. As this will need to be reported to GOG, where did you download it from?
I downloaded those installers from gog O.o

And Turok 1 worked on my 32bit tablet. But Turok 2 didn't run. I later installed the games (Turok 1+2) on my desktop at home, which has 64bit OS windows 10 pro. There it worked! :) But yeah...

Maybe I didn't download 32bit versions. I am not sure anymore, since my posting is from september. All I remember is, that Turok 1 ran on my tablet but Turok 2 didn't. I thought both were 32bit, since Turok 1 started on it :)

Was it Galaxy or the offline installer?

Turok 2 does not have a 32-bit version. It is 64-bit only.

It was the offline installer :)
Turok 1 started on my 32bit windows8.1 with bing tablet (acer switch10) and Turok2 didn't start ^^ but it's weird that one starts and one doesn't :) Since both are remakes of old games from the same studio I was curious about it :) I do not use or like galaxy. I want my games offline, for security of purchase reasons :)

The download page on gog doesn't say if 32 or 64bit so I don't know ^^

And it's hardcore how much more power those remakes need! xD
The original Turok 2 I owned on Disc Box back then as child, played fine on my Windows98SE system (Celeron Slot A 300MHz, 64MB Ram, integrated Nvidia Riva 128/128ZX 8MB Vram). And now look how much more power those Turok remakes need, just to run fluid xD

"Minimum system requirements - Windows: 7(SP1) (64-bit required)"

"Remastered for today’s computers using a new engine"

Quotes above taken from the Turok 2 store page on GOG.

This is why you can't get it to run on a 64-bit OS. It's based on the original game's assets, but it's rebuilt using a much newer game engine, and thus relies on modern hardware and OS features.
I see it now... I have checked the installers aswell.

Turok 1 has Filename:
setup_turok_1.4.9_(16812).exe

Turok 2 has Filename:
setup_turok2_ex_64_1.5.6_(update_4)_(13941)_(g).exe

So this means Turok 2 even has an "ex 64 = 64bit executable" marker in filename, while Turok 1 hasn't...

Well, since Turok 2 released only one year after Turok 1 (1997 + 1998) and both are ultra old games, ported from the same Studio now, I expected both to run just the same with same performance :/

It's weird that this porting studio gives Turok 1 32bit usability but Turok 2 only gets 64bit executable... For such an old game, why did they need 64bit for Turok 2? Turok 1 worked without 64bit just flawlessly :/

I think I expected that, while they ported both games very close together behind each other, while both games are nearly from the same time and have similiar graphics, with the same engine used for porting, that both games ran in 32bit mode x.x

It's weird that they had to do Turok 2 port in 64bit, while they could do Turok 1 port in 32bit :/

But now I see why Turok 1 ran on my machine, while Turok 2 didn't :)

But I play both on my 64bit gaming system at home now, so I'm fine! I was just a little bit confused about their decisions and expected both to have the same running requirements xD
