I'd really like to know if this runs on Windows XP. Thanks guys! :)

I'd like a more complete list: XP and Vista, 32 and 64 bit.

Part of me thinks that they've only listed support for Win7 on because they don't have earlier OSes to test with, but then again, it is a new engine. My machine is old now, running a dual core on Vista Ultimate x64, so any information on it running on either XP or Vista would be helpful.

The remastered release of Turok is intended for modern operating systems (AFAIK, it runs on an entirely different engine than the vanilla version). Windows XP is a legacy OS and not officially supported. The minimum system requirements given by Night Dive Studios state Windows 7 32 bits.

If you find it somewhere, you can still play the vanilla 1997 CD-ROM release on Windows XP. With the help of a 3Dfx wrapper like nGlide, it will run just fine ;). But you will be missing out on several new features in the remastered release, of course.

We know this, but the question is being asked is whether anyone tested it on WinXP, as not being officially supported doesn't mean it won't work. I'd like to know if it will run on Vista 64, whilst chevkoch would like to know if it will run on XP.

There's no point in buying a game to try and run it on an officially unsupported OS. But if you want to take the risk and rely on statements on compatibility by random strangers, go ahead. It's your money.

No point? I'm playing Killing Floor 2 and having an absolute blast with a group of friends. Yet I'm running it on an unsupported OS, and it still works fine.

Congrats to you then! I'm glad it works for you. You probably wouldn't have been so lucky with Windows XP though...

I just want to prevent chevkoch from a decision he could later regret. What if Turok Remastered doesn't run on WinXP? I don't know if he will be able to get his money back then.

Thanks, I do own the original release. Works fine on my machine. But as korell mentioned, I'm just wondering whether the remastered Turok would still run on XP despite the official requirements stating only Win 7 & up. Perhaps it works OK (or more or less so), and the devs just didn't want to spend the time to go through testing it on anything below Win 7.

If it would be $6 or so, I'd have just bought it and tried it myself. Maybe when the next sale comes around. In the meantime, if someone does try to get it to run on Win XP (and korell would appreciate a Vista report himself - see above), I'd love to hear their results :)

Thanks for this. If it runs on XP and runs on 7, then I'd expect Vista to be able to run it too.

As for the speed glitch, it is a known issue and it is related to difficulty. The devs have already patched it on Steam, but GOG seems to be a little bit behind. Maybe because there are more patches to come (there's already a beta on Steam following the first patch).

GOG should state that it runs on XP then. A lot of gamers still use XP for many reasons. Why loose out on sells just becasue Microsoft says XP isn't supported anymore? Anyway, glad to hear it runs on XP.

I can confirm that it works on my Vista Ultimate x64 machine. Though in the end I got it on Steam, as GOG was just too slow in getting this game updated. I can always get a DRM free copy from here at a much later date in some sale.
