I'm having the same problem as the gamer in this thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/truberbrook/truberbrook_intro_funktioniert_nicht. The game freezes just after solving the puzzles with the motorcycle at the very start of gameplay.

This "Let's Play" video of the gameplay shows that there is a video animation that should play where my gameplay freezes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kUyWqXbXQE&t=5m55s.

Perhaps my computer doesn't have the player necessary to play this animation or is missing a required codec?

I can bypass the animations by using the ESC key and answering "Yes" to the "Cancel" prompt, but it takes several tries before this works.

Do you have any suggestions about how to fix this issue? Is there some additional software I must install to play these animations or videos?

I'm running a Windows 7 64-bit PC with 16 megs of RAM, an I7-4790 processor, and a NVidia GeForce GTX 760 Ti OEM video card with 2 GB of VRAM.

Yes, this seems to be a general problem under Windows7. The game actually isn't freezing, it's just the video. You only need to wait until the video would normally end and the game will continue as normal.

But I'm not sure if continuing with the game is really a good idea at this point as I would expect this to be general video playback issue, so it will probably occur again with the next video.

I've now downloaded and installed the new version of Trüberbrook (Update 1) which was discussed here: https://www.gog.com/forum/truberbrook/update_1_is_live_pc_and_linux.

This did not solve the no sound and video for the cutscene (animation/video) on the bus moving up the mountainside that I mentioned earlier in this thread.

I know that there is no mention of this problem being solved with this Update, so I wanted to give the information regarding the codecs installed on my Win 7 PC which is experiencing the black screen issue.

I don't know if this information will be useful to the devs or not. Perhaps generating the same information for a Win 7 PC that doesn't have this issue and comparing that report to the one I uploaded will give some clue about what might be missing.

This report is generated by doing the following:

Open Windows Media Player

On the Windows Media Player screen, either select the Help Menu and then About Windows Media Player (if the menu bar is displayed), or right click just below the Title bar of the Windows Media Player and select the Help menu pick and then About Windows Media Player.

On the About Windows Media Player pop-up window that appears, click on the link in the lower left corner of that window that says Technical Support Information to generate this report (in .htm format).

If there is some Video codec different on the Win 7 PC that does display the cutscenes/videos/animations of the bus climbing the mountainside, that may be the difference between my PC and the one that works and I would be interested in knowing about that.

Or maybe this is not the information needed to fix this issue. Troubleshooting this issue is way above my "pay-grade".

I have been brave and kept on playing.
Chapter 3 or in other words basically when you see a mine cart is when you should stop playing, shortly after that there will be the next video.

(I hope my immediate ALT+F4 has avoided automatic saving at this point...)

Video playback issue is not fixed for me under Windows7 with patch 1.11.

Yep... I'm having the same problem as everyone else.. No Video playback after motorcycle Scene.

Well, I just downloaded a patch file which upgrades from version 1.11 to version 1.12 (155 MB) here on GOG, and the cutscene/video/animation of the bus climbing up the hill just after the motorcycle puzzle is displaying perfectly on my Windows 7 PC. There's also the complete game files for version 1.12 posted here on GOG now as well.

Thanks very much devs for figuring out the problem for us Windows 7 gamers and for fixing it. The game appears to be perfectly playable now.
