After installing TRON 2.0 via the Galaxy client, here are the results of my tests installing the patch/mods/add-ons to the GOG version of TRON 2.0.

All of these can be downloaded from this page.

Unofficial v1.042 Patch
Works as-is. Recommended, even if you don't want to use any mods, because the GOG release of TRON 2.0 is currently not the latest version of the game (v1.030). Much to my surprise. The Unofficial patch features some improvements over the Official v1.042 patch.

Killer App Mod v1.1a (TRON 2.0 enhancement mod)
Works as-is, but it seems you cannot still have the Galaxy client open after installing the game. Or else the mod installer will get stuck at the "Checking folder permissions" stage at the very beginning of the installation process. At least, this happened in my case. My friend and fellow GOG user schmatzler informed me that he had a similar experience. Not sure yet if this can happen with the standalone GOG TRON 2.0 installer.

User Error Parts 1 and 2 v1.1a (Single Player expansions)
Works as-is, but may also get stuck during installation if the Galaxy client is left open.

Complete Map Pack 02.21.2013 release (Fan-made multiplayer maps)
Works as-is, no issues.

Ancient Disc Mod v1.0 (Makes the disc look and sound like it does in the original TRON film)
Works as-is, no issues. Needs to be installed before Killer App Mod. The Ancient Disc Mod and KMX Legacy Disc Mod currently cannot both be installed at the same time.

KMX Legacy Disc Mod v1.1a (Makes the disc look like it does in the TRON Legacy film sequel)
Works as-is, no issues. Needs to be installed before Killer App Mod. The KMX Legacy Disc Mod and Ancient Disc Mod currently cannot both be installed at the same time.

TRON 2.0 Editing Tools v1.2a
Works as-is, no issues.

Wonderful :)
thanks for vital infos.
Thank you!
Excellent post. I hope it can get pinned on top of the threat.
Just A note I installed both the patch 1.42 & the Mod 1.1 It hangs on the very end even with galaxy off. But, seems fine. I don't play multplayer but SP seems great. Rez is good and game seems stable.

Running win 10 1809 ( November 2018)

I replied to you on YouTube with some advice that should help.
but no 1080p option
During installation of the mod, there's a point where it will let you pick what aspect ratio you want to use. If you select 16:9 Widescreen, the drop-down menu below that will then let you choose a 16:9 resolution like 1080p (1920x1080).

All relevant data for the German version is down from your site by now.

Do you still have the german language files for the patch?

That page is very old. The link I provided in my first post leads to an up to date file download page where all the links should work.

If you plan to play the GOG version of TRON 2.0 both patched and modded, you can apply the Unofficial Patch followed by the Killer App Mod. Both available from the link I posted above.

Even though the Unofficial Patch is in English, during installation of the Mod it will offer a choice to change both the text and speech in TRON 2.0 to other languages. This includes German (Deutsch), French (Français), Spanish (Español), and Italian (Italiano). A future update to the mod will add Hungarian (Magyar), Czech (Čeština), and Russian (Русский).

If you plan to play the original unmodded (vanilla) GOG version of TRON 2.0, there's a German (Deutsch) offline installer download of the game available here: https://www.gog.com/downloads/tron_20/de1installer1

If anyone wants to patch the GOG version of TRON 2.0 without modding it: just a warning that you definitely shouldn't use any Official Patch, because it was meant for the retail physical disc version of TRON 2.0. After installing it, the game launcher will look for a CD and if it doesn't find one you won't be able to run the game via the launcher. (The Unofficial Patch removed the CD check.)

The Killer App installer refused to run under WINE as it kept giving me an error that the installer couldn't find the game install.

Reading through the log (which was put into the windows folder for some reason) I noticed that the installer tried to find the install location via a registry key but when I opened Regedit no such entry existed.

I'm not quite sure if it's WINE to blame or the offline GOG installer for not adding the file path to the registry.

Could you provide me what the registry entry would look like so I can manually add it myself and be able to install the mod?

Also if you're planning on updating the install process in your next mod update could you add the option to manually select the folder in case a registry key can't be found?

Hmm, yeah this is strange. The GOG installer should have created that registry entry in the WINE prefix for TRON 2.0. On Windows, the GOG installer definitely creates all the registry entries the game – and, by extension, the mod – expects.

This is the content of a .reg file exported from a 64-bit version of Windows, with the game's Retail CD/DVD version default install path.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Monolith Productions\Tron 2.0\1.0]
"installdir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Buena Vista Interactive\\Tron 2.0"
You'll be able to copy and paste this (making any necessary edits), save it, and then manually import it via WINE's regedit, like you said.

I'm not 100% certain, but when editing the directory path: one of the edits you might need is changing "Program Files (x86)" to just "Program Files". You'll also likely need to remove the "Wow6432Node", above it.
Also if you're planning on updating the install process in your next mod update could you add the option to manually select the folder in case a registry key can't be found?
I will be releasing an update to the mod, and one of the changes is to make it easier to install on the Steam Deck and SteamOS via Proton. This should also benefit other Linux distributions with Proton/WINE using the Retail, GOG, or Steam versions of the game. At the same time, I can add an option to manually select the TRON 2.0 folder path if it isn't detected.

I just picked Tron 2.0 on the sale and trying to figure out how to get widescreen support running.
Installed the game (from offline installer), disabled auto-updates in GOG Galaxy client, then unofficial 1.042 patch and killer app after that. I still can't seem to get widescreen working correctly.

I did choose 1920x1080 after unsuccessful attempt with 4k (3840x2160) but that didn't really do anything.

Make sure that during Killer App 1.1a installation you set the aspect ratio to 16:9/16:10 Widescreen and the resolution to Custom. Then in the empty field at the bottom enter you custom resolution and continue with the installation.

After the installation is finished and you start the game in the launcher that will open you should find a lot of available resolutions under the "Display" option (your custom resolution being the active one).

I had no clue i have to go back to original launcher. Then it works ofc (just don't go to resolution menu ingame after that :D ).
i didn't have chance to play much yet so i will see. Performance was pretty bad tho. Started off nice but then the game felt like 20fps. Also HDR seems to be problem and is bugging the game (game get minimized randomly) but i'll chart that off to just way too new tech for this.
Still didn't try any compatibility mode so that also can have impact on this.
