There's an achievement for solving the clock puzzle on level 2. I got it, and Gog says it's an unusual achievement, only 18% get it.

63% don't play far enough into the game to unlock the first locked hero, the elf Aeric.

These are not difficult achievements, you can't fully finish level 2 without getting them. It seems a lot of people give up on the game very quickly. Is the 100% that is the population used for calculating achievement percentages inclusive of people who buy but never install the game for some reason? Or is it only people who install it? I wonder if the percentages are shared with the steam version or unique to gog?

19% don't get the 'kill first enemy' achievement!

That's just really pathetic. It says nearly a fifth get bored watching the intro video and ditch the game permanently!

To me this all reeks of a failed game. The combat does seem repetitive, but there are a lot of people bailing out long before that point. If I was the developer, I'd be embarrassed.

It's pretty much impossible to tell how these percentages are calculated unless you directly ask GOG themselves how they do it. But judging by the low percentage for the "kill first enemy" achievement, it's most likely GOG calculates the player percentage by those who own the game on their account. It doesn't factor in whether they have installed the game or even played it. I remember that this game was free on gog as part of a giveaway so that might be a reason since people will see a free game and claim it, without ever playing it at all.

Many people don't use Galaxy and use the offline installers which means they don't get added into the total either. That is the trouble if you follow achievements, for many reasons the percentages can be skewed and so are not a true reflection on the games success or failure.
