The 5000 unit patch does not work on my total annihilation program. If anyone else has installed this patch and gotten the unit limit to 5000 please post how you did. Mine is stuck at 500.

Yeah i checked it out already i think its the actual version that came with this game from gog.com i think its different somehow from the version that was released by cavedog. I actually went into the totala.ini and changed the max units from 250 to 5000 (therefore no patch just changes to the actual ini) and its till only reads 500 units. You would have had this problem pre GOG.com if you did not have the 3.1 patch but that's the only reason i can remember it wouldn't work

You could already run Cavedog's 3.1 version without the CDs by copying a couple of files and using a third party bugfix\update (Switeck's).

Fixed it ifanyone is interested you must go to http://files.tauniverse.com/fu/Files/TotalAnnihilation/UnofficialPatches.aspx anddownload the 5kpatch+ thencopy and paste everything out of the .zip file into your gog.com TA folder then run the .exe labeled "totala5knocd" works perfectly :D

I know this post is more than 3 years late, and I regret that. I was able to apply the fix using a hex editor. I'll edit this if I can get it to work again.

edit: I could only get it to work by using a hex editor because the patch was probably a 16-bit exe, and I'm on x64. It's moot anyway, this should work http://www.tauniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42656
