I installed the .sh appropriately (I think) but the game will only boot to the splash screen showing the title and no further. If anyone has any tips, I would be very thankful. I'm using the newest version of Lubuntu 18.04.1 on an old Core 2 Duo Dell Laptop.

I wouldn't be surprised if your laptop didn't meet minimal system requirements, especially when it comes to graphics.
