Help!

I'm currently in one of the maps you can buy (or one from a quest), and my character CANNOT MOVE!

I'm stuck between a staircase and one of the hatches that open up to let more bad guys come out!

Is there a solution to this? I quit and reloaded the game, but I'm still stuck.

I DO NOT want to lose my character!!!

However, if that doesn't work, I have a handy console command we can enable for you. You can 'ascend' a floor ( which will NOT mark you as a cheater ), and that should get you out.

browse to runic games\torchlight
there should be a settings.txt file in there

change
Console :0

to

Console :1

Now, when you load your character, hold SHIFT and press the ~ key
a console should come up -
type ASCEND and press return
that should pop you up a level and hopefully you should be un-stuck.

Isn't that on the High Security map? I recall it happened to me there, but quitting and reloading the game solved the problem.

got the same problem yesterday.

i found out about the 'cheating' solution on the internet and when i finally got it fixed, i found my char marked 'cheater' and my shared stash gone. i ended up with deleting the char and eventually deleting the game after having it played passionately for more than 20 hours... very frustrating.

if game developers can't deliver bug free games why is it not possible to have at least a conventional game saving system?

The console command ASCEND doesn't flag your character as cheater. Probably you've tried another one (e.g. DESCEND).
