Since TR1 is in dosbox, I can't necessarily speak for it but after fiddling around with the controls menu in the other 2 games I found a good setup for both. I hope this helps someone.

on both games, in the main menu, go to controls (the 3D arrow keys) and switch to user controls. then set them to the following:

TR2:
A= action
X= Jump
Y=roll
B= arm/bring out guns
LB/RB= sidestep
Start= Inventory
Back= Flare
Right stick click= look
Left stick click= Walk

it's a little awkward to hold the stickclick while moving it to walk, and the other stick doesn't need to move at all, just click it down to look. I suppose you can reverse the two if that'd be more comfortable. It sucks that the game won't recognize the triggers as buttons or else that'd make it muck easier...

DO NOT mess with the Moving, turning, and jumping back commands. they are all pre-set to the joystick. I messed them up once and it was near impossible to fix it because somehow I managed to set them to buttons not on the keyboard OR joystick making it so I couldn't navigate the menus at all! Just... don't mess with it!

TR3:
since there are new buttons, and sidestep have been switched to holding down the walk button and simply pressing left or right, the controls need to be... a bit different...
A= action
X= Jump
Y=Roll
B= Arm
Start= Inventory
Back=Flare
LB= Walk
RB=Sprint
Right Stick Click= Look
Left Stick Click= Duck/Crouch

Again, I think crawling would be a bit awkward to do when holding down the left stick's clicker while moving, and you can reverse the clickers if you want (I mean, you can do what ever, this is all just a suggestion..) I keep look on hand because the I find game's large areas need to be looked at and observed from all angles instead of just the default camera angles.

anyway, I hope this helps!

For Tomb Raider 1 try this - Tomb Raider I Xbox 360 Controller Support
And for Tomb Raider II and III try using - 0dd14 lab's Xinput Plus
Or just download this ready made kit - Tomb Raider II & III 360Controls
Copy all the dll files to the root of their respectful games
And for Tomb Raider II don't forget to run 'TRII360Controls.reg' to modify ingame control layout to match original Playstation version

I haven't gotten around to the other titles yet but Xinput Plus as stated above should work on them too.
