KthulhuX: I just don't understand why someone would specifically WANT to go through two downloads, two installations, etc; when one could suffice. Especially since the patch is apparently design to really only work well on a brand new "fresh" install.

It's something that GOG could integrate into the main installer...so why NOT do that?
You try and build an installer that includes the patch...

Yes, this update fixed the freezing cutscenes issue with TR 2 & 3! Thank you Tomb Raider community and thank you GOG, outstanding! :D
I was quite surprised to log into my account and see a game update notice, that notice system is quite handy.
So, after reading this thread, I bought the game(s).
Work absolutely great on my system (win7 64).
Thanks for the quick response gog.
Well done.

1. I'm not supposedly a professional that is selling games.
2. Actually, I probably could do so, if only by using a self-extracting archive and a batch file.

Again, I have to ask, why are seemingly opposed to making the process simpler?

It may be a matter of time for the team (as, afaik, they are a small team). Lots of things to do, so they at least provide the working patch and ask us to take a little time out of our day to redownload and reinstall. Not trying to excuse all their mistakes, but the company should be kept in perspective...
Any chance of GOG making a version of this patch (that is the TR Community mulit-patcher) to TR 4 & 5. I purchased the recent release but unlike my previous install, which was using that patch, these versions do not recognize my gamepad, and playing TR on a keyboard is pretty horrible.
Just bought the GOG 4 and 5, and 5 (Tomb Raider Chronicles) crashes on launch with a "Failed to Setup DX": error. Looks if a new patch from GOG is needed......
Edit: wrong section.

Yeah I am having the same issue. At first the update wasn't working so I reinstalled the game. Still the update said it was incompatible with the version of the game.

Does any GOG Team or other owners of the game have a solution for this? Normally I wouldn't care about minor bugs but I am hoping the update fixes the looping sounds. . . this is almost a form of torture when playing the game haha.

EDIT: I did also try redownloading both the game installer and update using GOG downloader.

If you redownloaded the game and did a fresh install, I'm pretty sure that the patch is already integrated. The current file for the game is 2.0, and the patch is 1.01. Unfortunately, GOG is not exactly transparent with their updates, so they wont always make us aware of the relationship between the patch and the current installer version. You might just see how things run.

You were right! I bought the game a few days ago so I didn't think this would apply but perhaps during my initial download something became corrupt. After I reinstalled I didn't bother to try because the patch still failed. Once I did try it though the sound loop was fixed! Thanks for the reply and help!
hi guys, installed all fine, incompatible response to installing update but reading in here seems not to be tooo much of a problem that. whats happening with me is when running TB1 it seems to create a few issues with input???? at the main game startup screen (controls, game, music etc) , they just rotate around in a circle with it becoming very hit and miss as to whether i can select an option. when i do appear to get into the controls screen, selecting user keys just seems to make the select box move down the list on its own in a loop.... am wondering if its a dosbox setting/issue?? my cpu is an I5-3570K running stock(?) @ 3.4ghz

EDIT - wrong forum i think - sorry

Sorry guys, can anyone confirm that the installer we download now includes the patch?

I tried reinstalling and haven't touched any settings but it still says incompatible.

Also what *exactly* does it fix?
