I can see the W7 window chrome shine through around the edges and between the interlacing of TR2's cutscenes. Anyone else notice this and is there a fix? TR1 and TR3 are fine.

Getting the same issue myself.
Me too.
I have this problem with my disc version of TR2

For me the cut scenes are the only real thing that make TR2 worth playing. The actual game looks ugly, but the cut scenes make it look a little better.

I was hoping GOG would have fixed these kinds of problems so I could buy an updated version.
Also got this problem. Does GoG have any solutions yet?
Yes.. I have the same problem... Only in TR2. Why is this happening?
It is pretty annoying, can anyone help?
Yeah, I'm having the same issue as well (Win7) with the patch installed. Is someone doing something about it or did Gog decide again to do nothing with a broken game?
Same here :(
but not only that I have the looping music problem too
especially since this is the latest version I downloaded

tried the patch as well but it says its incompatible with the version I have
Have any of you tried running the game as an administrator or adjusting the compatibility mode. I've found it has helped in some cases. Although I have not tested the theory out on any of the Tomb Raiders, yet.
I wonder, why nobody from GOG.com have skills to reverse engineer game. fix some broken outdated API calls that renders video in ugly overlay, apply interlacing and make it work like a charm? Few days or weeks with OllyDBG can fix this problem and many more problems with other old games on GOG.com (

What i really hate about gog is the fact that they only capable to use third party fixes and solutions and barely able to make 1st party fix.

GOG really need to hire few old asm \ Reverse engineering DOS \ Windows gurus that will be able to fix everything by changing few bytes in game exes and dlls. Its not impossible! Just require knowledge and some time to fix!

Anyone know how to fix this yet?

Its not game breaking but not a good experience either.
funn thing - i tried TR2 under wine in Ubuntu and it does not have this issue. Maybe using a Wine DLLs compilled for Windowa instead of native Windows can help fix this issue?

Can anyone compile wine dlls for windows to chech this out?

I'm also having this problem and am hoping for a solution
I think I may have found a solution for the window borders during fmv's. Digging through old copies of the game I found out the old sold out version installed macromedia shockwave player for me. I didnt install it the first time and got the border problem with the old release, and reinstalled with macromedia shockwave the second time and the borders were gone. So yeah that was kinda odd.

But anyway, Installing Macromedia Shockwave player fixed it for me. Hope this helps someone.

Now I just need to figure out if there is a way to make the inventory background animate like in the playstation version and all my pet peeves will be solved!

Edit: Nevermind it seems to have been just a fluke now as the borders seem to randomly come back. And now I have problems with flickering textures! This is really frustrating :(
