Hi all,

My firs question is for GOG: Is there any reason this game had Windows 98/ME compatibility turned on by default? I'm asking because it created a lot of problems for me like saves undtected by the game and CTDs when loading a new level. Not to be a smartass here but the game came out in 2003, XP era. Though I didn't try it, wouldn't it be a more logical choice? And why use compatibility at all? Game ran better and without problems when I disabled and turned WMV9 for cutscenes on. I'm on Win 8.1 by the way.

And now the big question: My laptıp has 2 GPUs. One is Intel 4600, the other is nVidia 750m. I want the game to run with nVidia, but it doesn't want to. And it's stubborn. I change the graphics card from nVidia control panel but it still runs on Intel. When I restart control panel I see that the chocie reverted back to "Auto-select: Integrated". Is there any way to run this with nVidia? I want to use AA and Intel is a bit slow for this.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.
GOG won't see your question unless you submit it through the support section. That said, nothing stops you from testing any compatibility settings yourself. Sometimes, GOG applies excessive ones because, for some reason, their tests showed a need. Other times, settings that worked on Win7 are not really needed on 8. It varies. Win98 compatibility might be used to enforce single-core CPU affinity, but there's other ways to do that, too. Again, it's best if you did some tests and, should you find a bettter solution than the GOG default, submit a ticket with your own solution. You could also write out your solution in detail, post it on the forum, and PM a GOG staffer to sticky it.

As to the dedicated GPU thing, changing the compatibility might allow you to permanently set the new setting; or you could find the settings file/registry entry and change it manually. I can't help you with specifics, as I have neither game, nor two GPUs.
