Then there are no more worries. See. Doesn't everyone have a DVD burner or an external hard Drive. Come on. Only GOG lets you do with it what you want once you download it. Steam or Impulse will never allow that.
To me, Downloading a game more than once is a waste of time and resources. Once I have it downloaded I copy it to 2 different Hard Drives to be burned to disc later which will then be filed away to be discovered by me 10 years from now when I'm bored and looking for something to do.
Is steam going to be around 10 years from now? If so, will they still have all your precious games ready to download? How about 20 years from now? What if the land under the server has an earthquake and everything gets erased.
Don't trust the Cloud we call the internet to hold your stuff. Would you trust a homeless guy with your wife's jewelry??!!?? Trust your own backups. Trust common sence. The reason no-DRM is good is because it's yours forever...

Probably. My games will be too. I'll make arrangements if the service goes under but it doesn't look likely.
Having a game freely and legally available for download at any time is pretty much the reason I buy stuff on these services in the first place. I don't want the stupid discs anymore.
Deja vu.
