After the game was downloaded and installed using the GOG client on my PC, Windows Defender detected malware and quarantined it. According to Windows Defender the malware was called Trojan:Win32/Fethar.B!cl and was located here \GOG Galaxy\Games\Titan Quest - Anniversary Edition\Viewer.exe and here: \GOG Galaxy\Games\!Downloads\temp\1196955511\Viewer.exe.download.

Has anyone else encountered this?

No, I haven't encountered that. It's probably a false alarm. You can upload the file to virustotal.com to be completely sure, though.

I did as you suggested. Defender is quick to remove the file, but I managed to upload it to virustotal.com and the analysis came out clean. The game installation is failing though. I guess since the file is probably benign I could add an exclusion for it in Defender. Really seems weird that this is happening though.
