Hello everyone, this is my first post on here.

I bought this game yesterday when it was only £3.80.

I downloaded it through GoG Galaxy and near the end of the process, I got an error message "Disk access failed" under the "MORE" button in the client window.

I managed to install it nonetheless by forcing it. Microscot C++ 2005 was installed as well during the process.

When I clicked on "PLAY", the game wouldn't launch.

So I went to the root location (in my case D:\GalaxyClient\Games\Titan Quest - Anniversary Edition) and clicked on the "launch Titan Quest - Anniversary Edition" button and then I got an error message telling me that the "MSCVR110.dll" file was missing.

I downloaded the file to fix that. Then I downloaded a MSCVP100.dll as it was missing as well. And then the game wouldn't launch at all. Instead, an error message saying "x000007c" or something like that appears.

I sent my query to GoG support. However I thought I might get a quicker reply here since they're quite busy over the week end.

Did someone have this problem before? Does someone know how to fix it?

Thank you for reading my plea,

I wish you a good day

Grayef

Sorry for not helping, just saying i have the same problem here (without encountering the "disc missing" error, though).
Thanks in advance for any help!

Ok so the disc error message didnt appear this time (I installed the game through Galaxy for the 4th time).

When I keep the MSCVR and MSCVP .dll files, I get another error message when launchin "point of entry error @@?!dsqdqkxwk" or sthg "is not to be found bla bla"
pretty sure it's C++.. install the 2008 and 2012 as well.. you might have to delete your downloaded dll

I forgot to mention I downloaded C++ 2012 and it still didn't work hence I manually added the .dll files.

Also if it can help people with the same problem, I have Windows 10 x64

Ok so I removed the .dll files I downloaded manually and redid the thing with C++ 2012 (without the 2008 thinking 2012 would be enough).

I clicked on TQ.exe and it launched.... and crashed afterwards. And I dont know why the .exe disappeared and so did the Anniversary edition one..

Grayef: .....
I have known some games to require the 32 bit version of Visual C++ 2010 in order to run properly. Sometimes an install program will only install the version that matches your OS. Assuming you have a 64 bit OS this could be your problem. This may not work for you but it is my best suggestion. =)

Make sure your run the Visual C++ download install as an admin and also right click the game icon, click properties, Compatibility tab and check "Run this program as an administrator"

Download the 32 bit version here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=5555

Edit: If you have reservations about installing the 32 bit version of VC++ you can see in the second attachment that I have several versions of it running trouble free on my 64 bit system.

the .exe disappeared? it's not your AV acting?

TQAE needs vcredist 2005, 2008 and 2012. Install any of those you might be missing (if 64bit only doesn't help the 32bit as well). Also check your antivirus and whitelist the game's installation directory.

How can you whitelist a game directory on Avast? I have the French version so I don't think Whitelist is the word but I keep looking for that on the internet.

My game when installed for the 6th time got the "Disc Error" message again on GoG but I forced synced the installation. And yet, as it's almost finished, I still see no TitanQuest.exe.

I"m just wondering how the AV can prevent the future installations of a game by removing its .exes.

any AV can do that.. if an AV flags a program as a virus it can automatically delete it and transfer it to its vault.. i suggest you check your vault first if it has the titanquest.exe

https://blog.avast.com/2013/11/03/how-do-i-access-the-avast-virus-chest/

from there you can recover it and whitelist/exclude it

Ok I did what you told me to do and it worked!

The TQ.exe came back in the directory. I clicked on it and I can play (well I'll see if the game goes beyond the title screen but so far so good).

The game is still installing on gog Galaxy reporting Disc error installing as well but the game works for an obscure reason.

I am playing on the TQ.exe do you think I'm missing the anniversary features since I'm not playing using the Titan Quest Anniversary edition.exe which does not appear in my directory? (and wasn't in my AV white list either).

Anyway thank you guys for your help I really appreciate it!

the file name is just TQ.exe.. the opening scene should say anniversary edition.. on the title screen when you have the play titan quest option, it should say TQ Anniversary v1.42 on the bottom right corner

i have no idea on that disc error but if the game installed and if it launches properly i guess you're good to go
EDIT: SORTED GUYS! I just installed the game in another directory! It works like charm now than you so much!

Ok I'm literally fuming. Things are not working again. Sorry for the rant.

So basically I'm reinstalling the game again in the Disc C:/ this time so I'm not bothered with the possible lack of space on my Disk :D/ .

I'm reinstalling it because as the game launched past the title screen, my character wouldnt move despite how many clicks I'd make on the screen.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. I don't want to double post every time here and waste your time.

Thanks anyway for all the help. I'll sort it out one way or another.
