I have no interest in either newer expansion, nor multiplayer, just nostalgic for my old tq gold game. I read on here that there are issues with loot being generated and shops having items I cannot use. So I wanted to confirm I can just play the base and immortal throne, I believe it was mentioned 1.45 patch, before I make a purchase.

I played the original game before I purchased both DLCs and it worked fine.

The AE version of the game is base TQ and IT combined into one so yes, you can play that. However, you will see items from the Ragnarok expansion appear and you won't be able to use them without having the expansion. This is so players with the expansion can also play with those who only have the base game without having to disable the expansion.

If you are expecting to download an older version that's the old Gold edition, I doubt that is possible since the old versions of the game are no longer on sale. Far as I know all patches will be for the AE version of the game only.

It doesn't have to be the gold edition to download, I'm ok with the AE version of the game, as long as it's prior to Ragnarok so I don't have items on the loot table that I cannot use. I thought the galaxy rollback may be possible, but that was several years ago, and I don't know that patches go that far back. Is it possible to download patch 1.45 or earlier for AE?

Thanks for the verification as this was something I had often wondered about. Personally speaking though this is a deal breaker for me, I understand why the devs have done it but I wish there had been another way. It looks like I'll be sticking to my original DVD version :(
I don't think Galaxy would roll back that far; I had a look yesterday and oldest was 2.8b, but I don't have the game installed on GOG atm. Whether the manual installer for the game does you'd have to check.

Thank you for checking to confirm. I will hold off on buying this game until they release the classic alongside it.

Won't happen. Makes no sense to do so when they have the AE version.
You can try duckduckgo-it (include ")
"setup_titan_quest_anniversary_edition_2.0.0.2" or
"setup_titan_quest_anniversary_edition_2.1.0.3"
for two very first GOG builds - and there is magnet\torrent links - but there is no seeders.

Easy to find - and download - is pre-latest build (2.9 hotfix instead of 2.9 mp hotfix). But it not so big differ. Although some ingame bugs probably not happened (you know, that always happened, fixing one and broke another things).

You can try google-it some middle version before Atlantis - but it be not Gold anyway - Anniversary with first DLC Ragnarok.
Although very first AE builds on GOG is not have any DLC's - it not Gold anyways. Even Steam Gold version (old separate appid games on Steam - TQ and IT separate as well) is not Gold in 2016. Maybe only TQ without IT. IT been re-released some time before AE (in same year or maybe a little bit earlier).

Real TQ Gold edition in DRM-free and [Digital] probably exist. But not sold anymore. You can try to find old retail 2 cd gold edition + patch (is there is any after IT addon?).
----------------
Or maybe you can try not to install DLC's for current GOG build. This is not solve any bugs cause version be same actually. Each DLC offline installers is 2.0+ Gb. For offline DRM-free version DLC is optional and this time even DLC files are optional (more often DLC installer just unlock them and sized a few Mb). GOG Galaxy DRM (90% still be drm-free if directly from game exe) build download them anyway.

Or forget it and play as is - install offline + two offline DLC installers. Current 2.9 MP hotfix or 2.9 Hotfix. Or even GOG Galaxy version - especially if you want rollbacks (oldest seems that is 2.8a with both DLC include).

Partial change log for AE

some .a->.b updates are not listed, current hotfixes 2.9->2.9 MP hotsix are not listed eaither. Check changelog thread here on forum.
Honestly, I would recommend looking into "other means" of getting Titan Quest Gold, be it legal (hunting down a box somewhere) or otherwise.

Even the base Anniversary Edition version made a ton of changes and the original will never be released again.

Most of the critical bugs can be fixed in the Gold version by using FanPatch and TQDefiler.
