Just from looking at the screens and videos, the game looks similar to Tequila Works game Deadlight. Does it play the same? A side scrolling survival/ action game?

There is a lot of action in this game, specifically if you are more aggressive and infiltrate guarded areas or attempt to be an evil looter and kill everyone, you do have to be on your toes and use the environment and your weapons.

Indeed, the game looks like a lot about Deadlight... (maybe a bit more polished with pencil graphic effects)
But it doesn't play like it. It is a kind of action/point'n'click.
Where you have to manage resources, morale etc... There's some action too like infiltration and fights.
So it is not just a "traditional" adventure game.
