Don't expand too fast. You're in a hurry to outbuild (and out buy the shares) of your opponents but you can't buy EVERYTHING while you're still losing money just keeping the park running. Prioritise what to build and how fast to research new stuff. One of everything the moment it becomes available is certainly too much too fast. Your first park can be super lame so long as you're making a profit from keeping the park open at the end of the year (repaying the build cost can take more time).

Start with just enough food and drinks, not all of them, and a couple or three rides, preferably the ones that don't need maintenance every two minutes. You can adjust the speed of the rides to keep them from breaking too frequently.
I played this for the first time today and I had the same problem and my park was tiny, only around 3 rides and 3 shops. The full business simulation was incredibly hard, even on easy, and by the time I changed to sandbox mode it was too late and I was going bankrupt.

Compared to RollerCoaster Tycoon, I was really quite disappointed. In RCT I was able to maintain a positive cashflow and gradually grow my theme parks, but here I couldn't even get chance to grow. And this was on easy too! I wonder if they simplified it for Theme Park World and Theme Park Inc?

Bullfrog games just tend to be too difficult for me for some reason. :(

Theme Park -> negative cashflow failure

Theme Hospital -> After first couple of levels it got too complicated

Dungeon Keeper -> Initial levels (tutorial and couple of levels after that) were fine, then I got swamped by the enemy keeper and ran out of gold stopping me from being able to do anything

Syndicate Wars -> First few levels, great, then not enough money to upgrade my agents

The original Syndicate, though, I got through to the final mission, though I couldn't beat that last mission. That's the best I've done in a Bullfrog game.

RevolutionSphere: I only really find Theme Park out all the Bullfrog games the hardest. Anyway I managed to maintain a good cashflow. I find Theme Hospital and I love Dungeon Keeper pretty easy , if you know how to plan out then you shoul be good to go.
Well, I probably didn't give Theme Hospital enough of a chance, but the distraction of many games is always a temptation and I switch between so many games such a lot.

Another Bullfrog game that got real hard pretty quickly for me was Magic Carpet. First few levels were great, then all of a sudden it is insanely difficult. Put me off so much that I ended up uninstalling it and never going back to it, and it stopped me from even giving Magic Carpet 2 a chance.

RevolutionSphere: I find myself losing money a bit too quick, than gaining it. I went from 140k to 41k in about 8 minutes :(
Which as a kid, I had to always use the money cheat or I would lose.

Anybody got any tips?
Just to follow up on my feedback, I played it again tonight but instead going for the sandbox option. Sure it is still hard to get the guests happy, but that is mainly the lack of interesting rides at the start of the game, but this time my cashflow has been steadily increasing. I'm still using the tips from the helpful tutorial type guy as to when to increase my food and ticket prices as it seems that the inflation within the economy of the game is really quite high.
