Hi!

I installed Theme Hospital from GOG on my laptop and then copied the whole directory to my android tablet. When I launched it in Dosbox Turbo (for Android) the game started, but then it said it required CD to play.

Can anyone help me, please?

On Theme Hospital the CD required to play message is what appears when it cannot find all the game files. The path it checks is the one stored in HOSPITAL.CFG (note that this is within the dosbox environment.)

I haven't tried on Dosbox Turbo for the android, but my guess would be that you were not mounting your drives at the same point in the path.

So, when you open dosbox without starting the game, you should be able to cd to the INSTALL_PATH as written in HOSPITAL.CFG and end up at a directory with the folders ANIMS, DATA, DATAM etc.

If the path is right than I'm guessing it's a file permission error, or some files were missing from the copy.
That was it! Thanks. :) I tried almost everything except looking in the cfg file. All I had to do was rewrite INSTALL_PATH.Thanks again!

You should have made topic marked as a question :-)
Oh. :-) Well, next time, I guess... :-)
Hi,

I've been trying to get Theme Hospital running on my Windows ME laptop. I keep getting a CD required to play error despite mounting an .iso file that works. How can I solve this issue?
After mounting your iso install it to D(*)/Games/Theme-Hospital, and then copy remain files from CD. Still some(?) disc editions are demand CD as DRM.
Don't forget to install a patch.

GOG version can help with DOS hospital.exe only. Overwrite files from GOG to your disc version, install patch again. Run hospital.exe. DosBox files and espefially GOG starting links of course not needed. Use hospital.exe.

I think there is discs that can be launched without CD. Did you install the game?
You can't use GOG installer, cause it is DosBox version, not a DOS version. That the important differences since you launch it on WinME. GOG installer think he must create virtual paths.
Although same as in case above edit hospital.cfg is maybe just what you need. Put your WinME path there, instead of virtual path for DosBox.

GOG version is non-latest and DOS-only rip. You can install better Windows version (winmain.exe)(+patch). For iso on WinME its same way to launch as Dos version - just winmain.exe, after proper installation.
This version also work great on WinXp sp3 and good on Win7 after some tweaks.
