You'll blissfully thank him for the sake of all of us then ;)

Just one day to wait, don't respond to the twitch sirens yet, it would be a shame, being so close ^^

RetroRebel: I think we shouldn't care so much about graphics but about how we're being left aside like the kid with bad breath in the ball.
I can't really blame CDProjekt for selling their soul to the devi... I mean, console lords. It'd be silly not to think that this is a business, and they want profit. But leaving the PC community like this, is a shame. There wouldn't be a Witcher 3 if not for us PC gamers, who bought their previous games. Yet we get the last piece of the cake, that one that's shredded by forks and toppled aside.
People say that the console market is just great and so on, and while that may be true in some respects, what they forget is a) the PC market is far larger, and 2) console games get pirated, too.

But my main point is that even in a bad year, global PC sales in six weeks surpass what the PS4 and xBone combined have sold since they shipped...! Or, put another way, in just 5-6 months PCs will outsell all the PS3/4's and all the 360/xBones, combined, sold over the last decade! That's how much bigger the PC market is, even in a down year for PCs (~30,000,000 per month are being sold right now.) When Win10 ships the PC market is expected to return to its nominal sales levels of 3.5M-4M machines per month.)

What some developers like about the console markets is that console owners are a captive market--that is, games are really the only software people want to run on consoles and consoles aren't geared to run much of anything else--so console owners just about have to buy whatever games ship for their console, and pay premium prices for them, too! Because so much more software is produced for the PC gaming markets, because of the huge size of the PC market, PC owners can be and usually are much more choosy about what they buy. IE, lousy games have a much better sell-through on consoles than they do on PCs, generally, and for the stated reasons.

Case in point: Skyrim for PC is a far, far better game than Skyrim for consoles, for one specific reason: mods. Mods gave Skyrim blowout sales records for Bethesda--and consoles get along very poorly with game mods for all kinds of reasons. Perhaps developers could care less about mods--maybe--but it's for certain that PC owners care about them a lot (visit the Nexus or the Steam Workshop, for instance.) Had Beth not opened up Skyrim to modding the game would have sold far less than it did. There are many more advantages to PC gaming for the gamer--but typically developers sometimes favor the easier, reduced competition of the console gaming markets and generally lower standards as to what console owners "expect" versus PC owners, etc.
consoles don't have MODS, skyrim is still alive thank to mods, Inquisition don't have mods and is nearly dead Divinity OS have mods, even dying light have now a very good tool for modsand you don't have to pay a monthly fee for multiplayer and i can go on & on

So what you're saying is that the only thing that has changed is the system requriements have been lowered?

I hope you're right. Hopefully this is just some huge charade, but the lack of CD Projekts transparency with this issue leaves me doubting.

WickedLarkin: I thought exactly the same! And apparently this it what you get with a R9 290X, so perhaps you could have pretty similar results with your own rig ;)
In the article it's said they set ultra settings, had 1440p screen resolution and still had 40fps "when galloping through the most densely populated areas" (google translated)! And it was claimed to be without day-1 patch!! WTF, is it even possible?

I've found that R9 290X is still somewhat better than gtx770. And I have weakest required CPU, i5-2500K. Though I hope at 1080p I will have good performance. We'll see in just a couple of days ))

Just take a look at the link I posted (and many other people from this forum) on your quotation, and you'll see that, on PC, the game looks way better looking than manure actually.

NO NO the sys req is higher than before sys req to run ultra was supposed as 770 gtx but as you can see to really run ultra you need a r9 290x or 970 oc or 980 so is really not lower.

1. Use your upgraded PC to run WT3 with GameWorks on, you will need it.
2. Streams are over-compressed videos that distort everything. They will always look like shit. If I watch some streams on a rare occasion, I do it for gameplay and comment, not to look at something beautiful. I don't even care about graphics at that time.
Well i've been avoiding these topics all day but we've only got 26 hours and 20 minute left to wait now so we'll all find out first hand how different the game looks on our own rigs vs the e3 trails from 2013...here's hoping they are better then some of the things we've seen.

Sure the game will have a good story and comabt i'm really hoping they made combat a lot better for this title the games combat took a dip in the second game.

I'll be really sad if the game doesn't get an Enhanced addition if the video and stills i've seen are really from the PC on ultra it will be a massive blow.

Sure i'll enjoy the game but i wont be able to poke fun at my console peasant friends lol
Once again, take a look at the last links sent on this thread.

You'll see that the PC version's graphics will hit a massive but freaking positive blow in your face :)
They are from PC on Ultra, but Ultra is not the highest setting on PC. There is also Uber that is hidden by default, but you can enable it in config files. It looks way much better.
