Is the game realy 200 hours long? As I have played 60 hours according to GOG Galaxy (maybe 10-20 hours more, as it didn't start tracking on the day I started playing the game) and I'v just reached act 3. I have completed almost all of the side quests (exept those regarding Gwent). As I see it act 3 will give me another 10, maybe 20 hours + some new sidequest another 10 hours + the POI i have yet to discover on Skellige will give me another few hours, all adding up to a hundred and somethin hours, nowhere near the two hundred hours that were advertised. Or do the two hundred hours include replays with different choices?

I've realy gotten fond of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer and the rest over the past 10 days and I'm not ready to say goodbye to the yet.
Where the devil did you hear anything about 200 hours? A 100 hours was always advertised as far I know.
Can't remember but i think they said witcher 3 would be 100 hours long ( or more ) depending on the player ofc, and what mode you are playing on.

Edit: but ofc some people might get 200 hours out of the game but again all depends on the player.

Actually I've read about 200+ hours also, I think it was Kotaku or GameSpot. But hey, 100+ hours is more than enough for me, as long as they are fun-filled.
It is still long enough to enjoy and not get overwhelmed. Pacing is good. Not to mention the exploration alone :P CDPR announced a 30H long dlc already so...we will get more of them all :)

I also read about 200 h somewhere. Can't really tell where was that info. After completing the game you will get a sort of an endless mode so maybe they counted a few hours from that.
Mphm, I only recall seeing a 100 hours for the base game with a completionist's approach, and +30 hours of content via the expansions.
Thank you for your replies.

I gues my question spur up as a result of worries that I'm near the game's end and will have to say goodbye to the characters. But as I researched a bit I see that a normal playthroug is about a hundred hours and maybe these 200 hours are to explore every inch of the map and to see ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.

Thank you again fro you replies.

I just checked my achievements and saw that I have completed all the contracs, so I gues I'm realy close to the end now.

Senior Game Designer Damien Monnier revealed on Twitter that the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take players over 200 hours to finish if they "do everything".

On the other end they said someone could speedrun through it in 25 hours (not doing everything I assume) (real speedrunners will probably do it way faster)

How can you tell what "act" you are in? I didn't see any act transitions.
I'm taking the time to do everything on death march, get all the witcher gear, upgrade all of the oils and other alchemy items, etc. I also find myself chasing dear for meat lol.. prob end up around 300 just because I dont want it to end lol

You burned through 200 plus hours of content in little over a week? Damn, either I'm getting old, or you have way too much free time on your hands.
I know I ain't getting old, so must be the latter...

Perhaps you're not getting old, but you may well do with a pair of reading glasses. :)

200+ hours to complete main quests and every side quest etc. is what was stated by developers.
Edit: Pheace found the link: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/03/31/the-witcher-3-is-200-hours-long

Based on how far though the game I've got in 100 hours, I'm pretty sure it's going to take me longer than 200 hours to complete everything.

You are right, he did say 80 something hours? I guess I'm just jealous, I only got like 45 hours on my counter (since release day), but not enough free time...

Same here, not to mention I'm currently stuck in the middle of upgrading and actually won't be able to play for a few days. :'C
