Hi guys,

A while back, the game started to crash on multiple occasions. It was just after Christmas that I began the third game in my entire series playthrough. Back in August, I had built a new PC, Witcher 3 was the first game I bought for it and I've finished it twice in almost maxed out settings, with no issues at all.

Though after I finished 1 & 2 in my series playthrough just around Christmas time, I jumped into 3 again and started crashing multiple times at certain locations. In White Orchard, when I was entering the Nilfgaardian Garrison for the first time, the game had crashed 3 times when Geralt was talking to the guards at the gate. After I got past that, I lowered the graphics settings a fair bit, which worked fine for me. Continued on with the game until I reached the Crones of Crookback Bog. Was doing the Ladies of the Wood quest, and got to the part where I had to speak to the ealdorman of Downwarren. It crashed twice and I just stopped playing around that point.

Was wondering if there's a way to prevent it from crashing randomly, or figure out what's doing it? My graphics card is an AMD Radeon R9 280.

I should note that I always ran this game as a non-steam game so I was able to speak to my friends there whilst playing, though since my internet wasn't working at the time, I played it through the Galaxy client. Not sure if this would have much effect on it though.

Any help is much appreciated, and if there's any other info needed, I'll be happy to add more.

Don't you think that's rather significant? That you played the game without issue before, and now you play it through Galaxy it crashes at random? You only need search this forum for myriad posts on Galaxy overlay causing the game to crash.
