This is probably the biggest turnoff for me in the game right now... open world with a "travel to use something in order to fast travel" system is horrendous. So much padding. Quests that should take 2 - 3 minutes end up taking 15 - 20 because of travel time.

I also hate things that are just silly!

Someone will find a way to make that kind of mod soon enough for those that want it. Personally I love the current game system of having you walk the land more than jump from map point to point. I really hope you're sarcastic, but if not I think you're playing the game for the wrong reasons.

the reason why there is no "real" fast travel is because people will cry that it is not immersive.
People even created mods for Skyrim to make it like the system of the wticher, lel.

I disliked this too but I felt the same way about Witcher 2 when compared to Witcher 1. He's supposed to be a huge womanizer. I get the impression they toned it down to try and keep their game from looking sexist or drawing ire from feminist parties, but it really just guts one of the main draws of the "Witcher" universe. It's his character, they lost the balls to stick to the core concept and Geralt lost some appeal because of it. Then those people don't use it? There's even a potion in game that benefits you if you aren't a regular user of fast travel. That should've been it - here's a potion to reward you hardcore immersive folk for not using fast travel or at least using it sparingly, here's a proper fasttravel system for the rest that just want to see all the activities without the travel bloat.

I think you missed a key word.

Geralt was never a womanizer and he did not bang everything that didn't run up the tree. Dandelion is the Womanizer. If I remember correctly, in the books, Geralt banged one hooker only.

If you are crying about Geralt doesn't get laid enough, then....well maybe you really play the wrong genre of games!?

It is very easy to have sexual encounters in that game! You still can fuck whores/prostitutes and with Yen/Triss!

It's the frequency with which it occurs, which is far less often than it did in Witcher 1. It dropped off quite a bit afterwards, again it's not *the* reason to play the game, but an important part of Geralt's character is being able to seduce and proceed to intercourse with at least one woman wherever he goes... whether it be a generic "peasant" or an important named character.

Dude, this is total bullshit. Read the books please. Don't make a douchebag out of Geralt. Witcher 1 was a wrong representation of the main character in that regard. Here, you can bang in brothels. That is, if YOUR Geralt is that type of a guy. According to the canon, he is not. Wait, are you being serious about all that? :P

I like the signpost system. It's a good compromise between always being able to fast travel, and never being able to. And once you've explored enough, the signposts are pretty good waypoints anyways.

And you can (try to) justify the potential promiscuity of the first game by his lingering amnesia; so with Geralt regaining his former memories over the second game, he figures out he's not that kind of guy.

I call it developer error. That amnesia somehow does not appeal to me. It was just childish :P hey look a chick! Lets bang her!
