davis531: Just get a dedicated card for physx/gameworks. I currently use a 750ti for a dedicated physx card and it handles the load pretty well in most games.
Can you use a dedicated card for all GameWorks technologies? I thought it worked with PhysX only.

Looks like you are correct.Gameworks will run on the main card since its OpenCL based. Running a dedicated PhysX card will still help a lot.

Damn, I was hoping you'd proof me wrong )) Well, ok, hope my 560ti will do.

It should. Though i have seen with older slower cards that are paired up with a newer faster card the slower one will create a bottleneck of sorts. In any case, being able to offload PhysX calculations to a second card will free up your main one from switching back and forth between workloads. I'm not really knowledgeable on Hairworks/OpenCL but I don't see why that couldn't be run on a separate card. I know TressFX wouldn't run on a dedicated card and that's pretty much the same thing. Ill do more digging today, see if i can find something out.
The physx used in Witcher 3 is CPU only. Adding a second card for physx calculations will accomplish nothing.

Would you be so kind to provide a link to some source elaborating the matter?

Thanks! I think whether there's a bottleneck mostly depends on how the drivers are optimized. NVidia issued new driver version specifically for GTA V. Maybe we will have another driver update for TW3.

"Wie schon bekannt, nutzt The Witcher 3 einige Nvidia-Technologien. Diese umfasst Physx für Physikberechnungen, Darstellung von Kleidung via Apex Cloth und teils zerstörbarer Umgebung durch Apex Destruction. All diese Effekte laufen jedoch sowohl mit Nvidia, als auch AMD auf der CPU."

"As already known, The Witcher 3 uses some Nvidia technologies. These incluse Physx for calculating physics-effects, rendering of clothes via Apex Cloth and partially desstroyable environment with Apex Desctruciton. All these effects are calculated by the cpu with Nvidia aswell as AMD."
Thanks for the info guys. I still think there will be the option to run PhysX on CPU or GPU just as there was in Metro Redux, which was done with the new SDK as is TW3. Im hopeful we wont be locked into CPU only PhysX. Although with the new SDK PhysX runs way better on CPU than it did in the past.

The citation is not In that article. Instead it says: "Though not a selectable or configurable setting, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also features NVIDIA PhysX, which adds realistic cloth and destruction effects throughout the game. Powered by the CPU and available on all platforms..."

Damn! And before these "next-gen" consoles were released back in 2013 it was officially announced to have GPU PhysX support.

At an earlier time he replied.
But yea, those what they've done during development has certainly revealed that indication. Tho I won't be that surprise since devs have decided to release PC+PS+XO instead of xx-only. [Sigh] Gotta admit, PC and console are very different stories.
