pt196: 6. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is Lagging When Playing Online

What has proven to work is using this lag reduction tool to lower ping as well as DNS issues. You can also try resetting your router.

These are some early fixes we have for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. If you have better solutions for crashes, errors, freezing, and bugs, we encourage you to post them in the comments section below.
Where do you get such a bullshit? Or in other words... show me how you play Witcher 3 online when there is no multiplayer.
I am playing the game since ~4 hours and I had 4 crashes already. They seem to happen randomly. The first two occured in the first 20 minutes. :( But I was also able to play for more than two hours now without any more crashes.

It is weird that everytime the game crashes, the sound, music and so on play fine while I get a blackscreen and have to quit the game with ALT+TAB/task manager before I get to desktop.

CPU: Intel i5 2500K (not overclocked)
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G
RAM: 8 GB RAM
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
Game version: GOG
Patch version: 1.02

The newest driver from Nvidia is already installed.

I get system freezes reproducibly in Velen while I had no problem in White Orchard.
This is on Linux using Wine-Staging 2.11. Also, this is on AMD RX 560 (using AMDGPU drivers).

Has the cause on Windows been identified?
