in Argentina the dollar is one dollar card , 11 pesos argentinos , games are very expensive over taxes we buy card dollar by buying a game that is very expensive , my anger is not voces into Spanish and if the Portuguese
Maybe say that again in your native language and someone can translate for us.
Our national coin was devalued over a decade ago, by our genius politicians. All went to hell and our lousy politicians began asking for money to the international bank to pay their debts. Debts that were originally there because they would rather store the taxes in their Swiss bank accounts than to spend it in what's supposed to be spent.
Therefore, our national coin got, as I've said, devalued. As most of these products are being sold in dollars, we have to pay over ten times what they're worth. I hope you managed to understand me.

Goodmongo: Hate to bust your bubble but it most surely is. Unless you and your "Harvard" researchers never heard of intellectual property.

How about we then just force you to work for free. Let's see the pseudo-intellectuals at Harvard explain those benefits. Stealing is stealing and if your moral compace is broken you'll find some excuse or rational to justify it. But int he end it is wrong.
avatar
MrMorgan: Mongo you lost any right to even speak about a "moral compass" when you started by advocating killing people.
I advocated killing a criminal. Yes I went way beyond the norm. But I can't support criminal activity. If you buy the game and give it away then fine. But to play the game and then not pay for it is just wrong. There are many inequities in the world. But what we have here is someone stealing a game that costs about $53, that needs a computer that costs $900+ dollars so this isn't some poor person. Or they can wait 6 months and buy the game for $20 or so.

There are many movies I would like to see but can't afford. So I wait for them and see them a long time after they fisrt came out.

Wolfehunter: So I'm only allowed to drink it once to? It shouldn't matter how many friends comes over and share my kegs or if I give him some of my kegs of beers.

I do see what your saying. I just don't agree to it. Now enjoy a good beer. :P
I'm saying that as a drink, it's physically impossible to do otherwise. Try sharing one pint with a friend but the goal is to drink one pint each. You can't. You can, however, playthrough a digital game both without purchasing two licenses.

I suppose the issue lies in that we as a creature we want to share good fortune with out friends (and share our misfortunes with our enemies ;) but it's easier to accept natural laws as an inherent limitation of the world rather than some social rule "to keep" it together.

This is why I like GOG's family/house rule even if they can't enforce it otherwise. Even Steam has a Family Sharing option but it basically requires you to trust the other person playing your games with your login credentials which rather puts a huge limit on how many people you are willing to share with.
Honestly, I'm glad that there are preload torrents up right now. I already had the retail edition pre-ordered, but I just found out my DVD drive isn't working properly. My plan is to grab the preload files beforehand, then I can just activate my key on GOG and have it all ready for me when I come home from work on the 19th. They get my money, I don't add to their bandwidth demand, and everyone is happy. I know I'm probably in the extreme minority, but this does have its benefits for some of us CDPR supporters. (username unrelated, I swear)

I'm in a similar situation, my pre-ordered DVD will come the day after tomorrow, so I'm currently downloading preload files from torrent to prevent waiting for two days and will download the day one patch as soon as it's available.

Donnylad: i pay for The Witcher 3 and you get ppl putting up torrents for teh game no crack needed just the day 1 patch SORT THIS OUT get on top of it and get them taken down its not fair for thos who are paying to support the DEVS
Are you new on internet ?
I mean, EACH games, movies, music are always on internet for free with piracy.

I payed this game because I support the game-company who worked on this.
And I know many peoples will "hack it" to not pay.

So what ? They will get it for free and not me ?
What can I do ? Raise an army ? Kill them all ?

Mostly, people who don't buy games are people who don't really want it and they will -maybe- buy it after all.

I bought the game and you know what ?
The 1st thing I searched was a torrent to get the GOG Preload.
Without Galaxy or browser because of my f-kcing bad conenction.

Your thread sounds like "why i'm paying when people get it for free".

JamieK.413: I even have netflix, but since i am in the EU, (london) i don't have access to what the US netflix does, all Star Trek Series, Teen Wolf....EVERYTHING, i get some crap shows that got cancelled, another reason why piracy is so bad.

I don't agree with piracy, but i can understand why some do it.
I have Netflix so, yes you do my friend, it's called VPN...BTW Sweden has the best movie selection, and the US has one the worst...

Yea 100s of years ago our leaders used to steal from the public at the public's expense.

We cut their heads off :D

But now some have started doing it again (this time politicians), so I think we need another round of head offing.

Dang, couldn't agree with that statement more. Let me know when, I so want to watch.

Over here they get their hands slapped when they get caught and then draw a nice hefty retirement check every month for the rest of their lives.

You know what they say... power corrupts , and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I don't see what you mean, try reading cognitively. I was answering to the Australian dude who didn't understand what was said.
