I'm having this problem too, I installed from the disks then after I ckicked on the shortcut, loaded GOG, and created a acount, there where no games registered from my library. I then went to redeem code and inserted the code from the back of the manual where it registered correctly, however GOG didn't reconize that I had the game installed so I used scan for inport folder and added it. So now its stuck with "waiting for release".
I would realy prefure to not have to redownload it over my internet conection.
An additional thing is there where no updates after installing (installed on 6 July).
Client vertion is 1.0.5.11 (beta)

Update: I fixed the issue by going under download extras-> game backup copy, and manualy instaling the patches. So it seams to be an issue with just version 1.0.

If I'm understanding this correctly then you need to DL and install>witcher3_patch_1.01.

First you need to have the base game intalled, ether from the discs or online. Then path 1.0.1 to be able to launch the game. I would also recondmend installing all other patches too.
