anybody else started getting crashes after the patch??
No, in fact the crashes stopped for me since 1.03.

Does it freeze (music continuing to play) or does the crash bring you to the desktop?

Also do you have installed the latest NVIDIA driver?
yeah i had one freeze when i tired to reload a past save file but other than that not a single one
Man, it's starting to crash more often, in bunches.

Yes, it has crashed with audio still going, but not usually. Crashes are either straight to desktop, or hung, forcing ctl-alt-del.

I have not changed a single setting, driver, or mode anywhere since before downloading the patch and now.

Yes, I had the latest driver days before the game released.
Didn't crash once since the patch, but the inventory bug when you cannot leave the screen only by using your mouse to click exit is still there.

For me crashes stopped after 1.02. Still not crashing with 1.03, but performance-wise, 1.02 was much better for me, ran much smoother than it does now, and I've had to lower a lot of settings to get better fps with 1.03.

I haven't changed nvidia drivers since the new ones came out last week.
ok, I have solved the problem

new NVIDIA drivers are causing the freeze.
uninstalled. everything works fine with 1.03 patch
Are you sure your gfx card is not overheating? A lot of crashes and freezes seem to be caused by too much overclocking and/or cooling systems that cannot keep up at full load.
(no issues here on a moderately overclocked GTX 980 and latest Nvidia drivers)
