Something Ends, Something Begins – Ending 3
The ending will depend on the decisions you have made in the past, and in order to get to this conclusion, you must have made at least two of the following four choices. Going against three of these would mean Ciri is dead and Ending #1 gets enforced.
In Act II: Main Quest: Blood on the Battlefield you must have chosen to play snowball with Ciri over drinking with her.
In Act III: Main Quest: Final Preparations you must have let Ciri go alone to talk to Lodge of Sorceresses.
In Act III: Main Quest: Battle Preparations you should not have given the necklace of Lara Dorren to Ciri, letting her tear up the laboratory.
In Act III: Main Quest: Battle Preparations you should have gone with Ciri to the grave of Skjall.
Other than this you should ensure the following:
In Act II: Main Quest: Blood on the Battlefield you must have went to Vizima and took Ciri to Emhyr.
Or, a few scenarios with regards to the war, Nilfgraad, Radovid and Dijsktra.
You will get three different endings inside this conclusion.
In order to get the first two, in Act II you must have completed Assassins’ Quests (which include Side Quests An Eye for an Eye, A Deadly Plot and Redania’s Most Wanted). Then in Act III you should have managed to complete Side Quest: Reason of State.
Here’s how the scenario is effected by these decisions:
Ending #3A
You supported Vernon and Thaler, and killed Radovid resulting in a Nilfgaardians rule. Now the leave this land and the emperor’s troops are shifted from Vizima Palace. Temerian army reclaims it.
Ending #3B
You supported Dijkstra and killed Radovid, resulting in Dijkstra’s rule. He is not shedding a lot of blood but his army is looking for conspiracies and pushing spies and crown allies away.
Ending #3C
This is the third scenario that takes place if you didn’t fulfill the requirements above. You have not completed Side Quest: Reason of State and Radovid is alive. Emperor wishes to get away from Vizima, there are oppressing witch hunters; the ending comes with an atmosphere of low hopes and courage.
Am i kinda confused on what to do after "In Act III: Main Quest: Battle Preparations you should have gone with Ciri to the grave of Skjall."
What are the Assassins's quess and is it possible to miss them? Which of the endings #3A/B/C is the one in the video?

Didn't that guide tell you? I'm not really sure you need to worry about the assassin's quests if you want Ciri to live at the end. The assassin's quests are when Djikstra and Roche ask you to help in assassinating Radovid. I completely walked away from that sidequest as I figured this would mean Nilfgaard would win the war. Even walking away, Ciri lived in my playthrough.

Going with Ciri to the grave of Skjall happens during the mainquest and is easy to spot. The snowball fight also happens during the mainquest. Just try to cheer Ciri up after she is training with the elven sage.

Incidentally, I'm not sure Ciri actually dies in the alternative ending. It just might so happen that she doesn't tell Geralt that she is alive

In my ending Ciri survived. I told Emperor that she is dead and than I met with her in pub at first village(Belosad in my language), where she get new sword from me.

She become then famous witcher.

It was my first game, so was I lucky for this ending? I just make decisions that I felt more right.

I got the witcher path and I didn't let ciri speak alone with the lodge, didn't even go to see the emperor and didn't persuade her not to go (but encouraged it) into the 'portal'.

So I'm not sure you need all of those, just a couple and probably not even in any given order just as long as some of them are checked off.

I had live Ciri

1-3 agree

but

4 - I said her to calm down
5 - Didn't even speak about it

Sadly, I got the Empress ending which I did not like at all. At first, it seems the most reasonable one. Having someone like Ciri on the throne would change many things for better. If we kill Radowid we ensure that the elder races and mages can finally rest in peace. However, after I though about it more, why on earth is it my fight? Why is it my 'daughters' fight? The people themselves should make the first move and fight for their good. Oppose the oppressor, revolt etc. Witchers should be neutral. I also couldn't bare the though of that Nilfgaardian general ploughing Ciri (He would be the prince right?). Not on my watch. Och no, no, no. So I ditched all my save games and started all over :P


I got the Empress one with:

1 - Go with Ciri to Skjall's grave
2 - During final preparations, allow Ciri to go to speak with the Lodge
3 - After Vessemir dies, cheer Ciri up with a snowball fight
4 - In Avallach's lab, encourage Ciri ("Go for it") to destroy it, to vent her anger
5 - In conversation with Ciri, there is an option to mention that the Emperor wishes to see her:
Choose to go with her, but do not take the bounty offered (Empress path) ---> And I think here is the thing I screwed up.

I would also add another variable. The time when you have a choice of allowing her to kill the 3 Witches or the Ain Seidhe general. I would suggest letting her kill the general. If you allow her to go after the witches, she will loose her medalion.

Judging by conversation with a friend, we did same things with one exception - he got Empress ending, I got Witcher ending. The only different decision we made was after Kaer Morhen battle - he went to Emperor (and refused payment), I skipped trip entirely.
We both told her to keep training, played snowball, let her go alone to the Lodge, helped her to smash Avallac'h's lab (funny moment), helped her visit her friends (and whatnot), visited Skjall's grave.
Global decisions - Radovid killed, Temeria is free, Emhyr is, obviously, alive, Cerys is the queen of Skellige. Bloody baron's fate, apparently, irrelevant.

Actualy (for 5) it's Ciri visits Emhyr & Nilfgaard takes over Novigrad for Empress path (you need to complete the assassination quests and side with Roche & Thaler).
If you let Ciri visit Emhyr but either Radovid or Dijkstra takes over Novigrad you'll get the Witcher path.

Now read it again. I was not setting out the Witcher/Empress path, I was setting out how to ensure that Ciri survives.

Yes but you listed the path split and didn't mention that it is not the only factor so it's a little misleading (because letting Ciri visit Emhyr does not exclude the possibility to end up with Witcher path).

If you wanted to only point out survival choices you could have writen it something like this... without misleading information...

4 - In Avallach's lab, encourage Ciri ("Go for it") to destroy it, to vent her anger
5 - In conversation with Ciri, there is an option to mention that the Emperor wishes to see her, persuade Ciri not to go or choose to go with her, but do not take the bounty offered

5th is an interesting one... because if you ignore it (don't mention Emhyrs request and go straight to Velen) or presuade Ciri not to go it kinda counts as positive for survival... but if you go to Vizima you must refuse the money for it to count as positive for survival.

And also you could have mentionet that you only need to meet at least 3 of these requirements for Ciri to survive.

That's not an option. She'll always go after the crones and Geralt will always fight Imlerith no matter what dialogue option you choose.

Things that keep Ciri alive, apparently you need at least two of these (do them all to be safe):

During Blood on the Battlefield
- Engage in a snowball fight with Ciri
- Don't visit Vizima to see Emhyr.
- Also, I can't recall when it happens, but don't accept coin from him. There was a point when I had Geralt refuse to see him after talking to Yennefer, then Emhyr sends soldiers to find you and forces you to go to Vizima. He then forces gold on Geralt, you get no option to refuse... It must not matter that much since I still got Ciri to live.

Final Preperations:
- Let Ciri talk to the lodge of sorceresses alone.
- Let Ciri ransack Avallac'h's laboratory.
- Visit Skjall's grave with Ciri.

If you don't want what I consider the bad ending, Ciri becomes Empress (which I think makes no sense, it's what I call a Witcher 2 ending where some writer forgot that he was writing the Witcher where there is not supposed to be "greater good" political nonsense lol) you need to kill Radovid, and later side with Thaler, Ves and Roche against Dijkstra. Temeria then becomes a self governed vassal, and Emhyr takes Novigrad. More importantly, Ciri later becomes a Witcher (the good ending in my opinion).

Same reason i cannot stomach the empress ending, i hate arranged (political) marriages (during one of the quests in Novigrad Voorhis himself makes it pretty clear that if Ciri succedes the throne she will be forced in to an arranged marriage). Uh-uh no way, no forced (arranged) marriages for my daughter (so no empress ending ever), Emhyr can go plough himself (or Voorhis for all i care)!!!
