W3 got one of the best OST i've heard but i have one question: it's just me or track "The Fields of Ard Skellig" bearing strong resemblance with one of the "Medieval Total War" ambient tracks?

It's not just you but I wouldn't call that "strong".

Btw. this one is ma favourite.
The witcher 3 soundtrack is amazing! I love it now but what about in game? While traveling and fighting it will be even more epic. Most of the games do not have good soundtracks but i got to say...... The witcher 3 soundtrack fits perfectly into the enviroment and is generally great. A piece of art. Maybe not all of the tracks are something that you would listen to daily, but they fit with them game really good. The theme of all tracks makes a name for "The Witcher 3 Soundtrack".

Yeah, one of my fave too. As for "Strong/weak" - fragment starting on 1m :58s in "Fields..." nearly identical to fragment 00:50 of MTW, BUT don't get me wrong, i approve that moment, bring back memories and emotions :)))

The Fields of Ard Skellig
Ladies Of The Woods
The Trail
Hunt Or Be Hunted

Didnt have time to listen to all of them but those are the ones i liked the most/my favourites. It is a VERY risky theme they choose to follow... And, well.. They did suceed, very good :)

Hi,

It is of my understanding that there is a very popular sound/music sample library that many composers use. You can find those sounds/melodies in many game soundtracks like in Heroes of Might and Magic 4. where there is a part that is identical to "The fields of Ard Skellig". Check this link:

Holy crap! Its exactly the same! Makes me a bit sad actually, i kind of wanted it to be something new. But i guess a lot of composers do this? I dont know.
Man, the HoMM IV soundtrack still gives me the chills and reminds me of the struggles of Waerjak, one of the major highlights of the series. Thanks for reminding me.

Well, you shouldn't be sad. You can have the samples and even some melodies but they still have to put them together and work on the overall soundtrack. I still consider The Witcher OST one of the best.
Sadly The best game OST for me is still Morrowinds ;)

I still think the witcher 3 has one of the best soundtracks, dont get me wrong :)
I can't get enough of Commanding the Fury and Spikeroog, superb tracks.

I'm really enjoying Welcome, Imlerith and The Fields of Ard Skellig (HOMM 4 vibe) too.
Hello guys! Listen to that, we are almost in Velen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHjiWgjeQjM

Jeremy Soule nad his work with Elder Scrolls music is just amazing. Oblivion and Skyrim might not be good games but the music is fantastic.
I always had a thing for the Knights of the Temple sound track .. if anyone can remember that game :)
